if you would have read the "fine print" on the bottom (i think) of the page you emailed them from you would have seen something along the lines of "wait one buisness week for reply" or something to that effect.

You may receive an answer but it won't help!

All Arctic Cooling is going to tell you is to take it back to where you bought it. Arctic Cooling does not honor the 6 year warranty that they advertise their products have.

I purchased an Artic Cooling video card cooler for my 7800 GTX this past October. I didn't get around to installing it until December. The fan didn't work. I contacted Arctic Cooling and was told to return the cooler to place of purchase. The place that I purchased it from offers a 30 day exchange. I was well past 30 days.............

It is a blatant lie that Arctic Cooling warranties their products for any length of time!

Needless to say I shall never again purchase anything made by Arctic Cooling.

Personally i'm not worried about warranties, especially for the price of everything!

I mean: ATI Silencer 5 rev.2 is only like £12, i'd accept the product if it had no support or warrantee. If it was bent i'd probably still buy it as long as it wasn't too bad.

Damn people, have a little patience, especially at this time of year. I'm slightly annoyed with some problems with BF2 i'm having. their support staff are so busy it takes roughly a week per reply. Still, if you stay calm and talk to them as 'HUMAN BEINGS' and have a little respect for them, they are more likely to want to help you out, instead of thinking "Well, he's an impatient git, i think i'll leave his email til last".

Yes it was cheap, but if they claim a 6 year warranty and have poor build quality their not going to be around long.

As I see it this is your retailer's fault.
Arctic Cooling sells their products to distributors who sell it to the merchants who sell it to you. The price the distributor pays "includes" cost of handling of RMAs etc.
If your retailer wants a defective product replaced he will do it via his distributor, this is common practice in the hardware business and not only done by Arctic Cooling, but by everybody.
Have you had RMAs with that retailer before? Maybe it's just that he's too lazy (it costs his shipping money + time) to do it? The warranty will always be backed by the distributor.

I sent you a PM with direct contact info for someone at Arctic Cooling. They DO care.

I paid $47.98 (~ £27) for a product that was defective when it left the factory....... and I'm supposed to just shrug that off? I'm not! :shadedshu I'm going to let everyone that I possibly can know that Arctic Cooling builds junk, advertises that they offer a 6 year warranty, and will not honor the warranty that they advertise!

Yes it should be. Unless it is stated where you bought it that the warranty is dealt with the parent company, you should be able to return a faulty device at any time within the warranty period. If they give you any garbage about why you have not returned before now just say it was part of a system or a gift, that you ahve not used till now. By the way where did you get it from it does seem very high price I just got a ac 5 v2 for my x850 for £12 + vat.

its the same in the UK wizzard.. a thing has to be fit for the purpose it was sold for.. it was the retailer that sold it to the customer so they have to take it back.. there is no 30 day limit to this..

I agree. I've never had luck e-mailing companies for tech support. Get them on the phone it's much more efficient to talk to a person directly, and you're more likely to get want.

I got an answer from ArcticCooling (not very comforting, in terms of answering my question) very quick, by eMail. So be patient, maybe your answer will not come so quick, but maybe answer your question. To ask for both, speed and insight, would be very bold indeed. :)

David, just because the distributors that sold it bent the cooler, and the AC email suppot was busy, doesn't mean the company sucks... For the price, and quality of the coolers, i'd recommend AC to all.

I have the ati silencer 5.2 and love it no issues at all with installation or after install. runs just as all the reviews say. My pc stays on 24/7 and i always monitor temps so if something goes wrong i will know right away. If I had issues i think i would give the company a little more than six days to correct the issue if the retailer didn't want to help. With throughing it away you don't even give the company an option to exchange or refund.

I got a ati 4 rev 2 and the fan failed after a few days. Got a replacement and it didn't even last that long! I'm fed up of having to keep replacing the things (my time is precious), is this a common problem.

I took the first one apart and found that the wires had come off at the fan end. I'm sure the second is probably the same.
