Arctic Silver 5 on R480 Application

I am going to replace the supplied silver paste on the Arctic Cooler on my Sapphire x800 GTO. I am seeking advice on the amount of Arctic Silver 5 to use for the core. Is the technique similar to that when installing the CPU on a mainboard?

Apply just a small amount of the paste to the center of the core.
Then apply even smaller amount of paste to each corner of the core.
DO NOT spread the paste. Just attach your heatsink and it will be spreaded perfectly.
