ARMA v1.05 Issues

Hey guys dont know if this has been posted but I'm having some really annoying lag :banghead:

when I play ARMA.

I'm running it on all "High" @ 1280x1024 "Low AA" and "Normal AF". :eek:

Do you guys think this is too high for my system. :confused:

Let me know what settings you think I should put it on so it still looks awesome but also smoothe. :rockout:

By ARMA, do you mean Armed Assault?

Couple of things to check. Do you have anything runing in the background when playing? Like anti virus perhaps? Also, is it lagging in online play, or single player?

Yeah I mean Armed Assault.

I dont play online and it lags worse in the "Campaign" (possibly because of the map size) than it does in the "Missions" ..... but I do have a nvidia firewall running and also NOD32 virus protection.

Do you think its because of those 2 ??? :confused:

When ever I play a game the only thing running is the game (and the above two things I guess).

Come to think of it I went to a LAN (had the best pc there :rockout:

) and had both the firewall and virus protection off and it didn't lag and I had the game running @ 1280 x 1024 with everything max and we played with 10 people. :pimp:

So yeah if you think its the 2 software :banghead:

I'll try disabling them and running the game.

OK, let us know how it goes. Anti-virus popped into my mind almost immediately because leaving mine on (Kaspersky), causes weird stutters in gaming all the time for me. Shutting it off stops the problem. But I do leave the firewall running if I'm just playing single player.

It could also be the nvidia firewall, it's a hardware firewall that is a lot tougher on your system
than a software one would be. It is also a lot harder to configure. Try disabling it and see if it helps.

Thats a very good point I haven't tried that yet...... will do soon and let you guys know.

alot of peeps have probs whit arma even some guys that have a 8800 gpus struggle

my tip is u should try Desert island its a mod it cut down most of the forest and its the demo island

Yeah maybe there is nothing I can do but wait for another patch with better optimization for hardware and shit or whatever it is lol :laugh:
