Please see post #16 for the root of the situation.

Hi all,

I would like to know which is the best RAM memory optimizing software for gaming on a Win 10 OS?

Please tell me!
Thanks to all in advance!
Best regards!

None, they're all trash, and for the most part don't actually do anything. Whatever RAM they may save ends up getting used again shortly after when the host process that was using it starts back up again.

+1 They're snake oil. Don't bother.

There are lots of other things that you can do to improve performance, including closing other programs and reducing the number of background processes that run.

Thank you for replying!
What tweaks would you reccommend to me then? Please tell me!

What problem are you running into OP? qubit already stated what you can do to help. Adding more ram might be the ticket as well but I do not know what you are currently running.

No need to yell, people will hear you.

Just don't run any applications you don't require. Windows does a pretty good job of optimizing resources for demanding applications. You could always go in task manager ,and set the priority of whatever application it is to highest

YES i have one for you : Close all running programs.

There is no need to free any RAM until your pagefile usage is low. Also, your OS knows how to handle RAM better than any optimization programs you can install.

What about ReadyBoost?

Could someone please help me to enable the ReadyBoost feature on a 64 GB USB 3.0?

Why ReadyBoost Probably Isn’t Useful For You
So far, so good – but there’s a catch: USB storage is slower than RAM. It’s better to store SuperFetch data in your computer’s RAM than on a USB stick. Therefore, ReadyBoost only helps if your computer doesn’t have enough RAM. If you have more than enough RAM, ReadyBoost won’t really help.

Taken from this article.... https://www.howtogeek.com/123780/htg-explains-is-readyboost-worth-using/

With 16GB of RAM, you do not need it.

If you are determined to try it, google how to install and use ready boost. I am sure there are many tutorials and youtube videos on how to get it done.

Ok,then is it true that my 16 GB DDR4 Dual channel-2133 MHz RAM is not enough for playing ArmA 3?

I was just about to post that same link! :)

Agreed, ReadyBoost isn't worth your time IMHO.

Also I feel most optimizers are a waste of time as well on most modern systems that are running Windows 8.1 or newer. Memory management is pretty damn solid, 10 only improved that in my experience. The amount of things I can run smoothly on 8GB and 16GB systems is pretty damn impressive.

Is there an actual issue here @HiTech_32 or are you more curious? Frankly, my suggestion would be to minimize the extra stuff like this that you do, adding layers of management and complexity to something already complex and OS-managed isn't going to necessarily improve performance.

I know guys playing Arma 3 on lower spec machines with 8-16GB RAM, I don't play that game but can check to see if they still do and what their experiences are. Do expect no matter what that an Arma game will have bugs and glitches and performance issues, even on the beefiest system, at least if it follows in true Arma development. Do you already own Arma 3?

Yes,I have ArmA 3! My specs are : i7-6700 HQ @2.60 GHz- up to 3.50 GHz ,16 GB DDR4 RAM and Nvidia GTX 960 M 4 GB GDDR5 !

And some members from the Bohemia forums, told me that these specs, especially my RAM are not enough for it!

I am experiencing some boring stutterings and 1-2 FPS drops even at the lowest settings!
What would you reccommend to me??

I have also overclocked my GPU!

Try to keep the laptop cool is the first priority!

The stutters may correlate to thermal issues, but you would need to run a couple of programs in the background while gaming to be certain.

I have never had thermal issues!
I have undervolted my CPU with ThrottleStop, and my GPU also never reaches high temps,it reaches around 67-68 degrees Celsius at most, but without throttling!
I also use a cooling pad!

I would please you to tell me how to fix those stutterings issues!

Do not own the game. I was hitting on the obvious things that it could be.

Does your laptop have an SSD or is it an HDD?
Seems many people have issues with low FPS and ARMA3, and even with better systems from what google shows me.

I would take a look at this thread... maybe something there can help.

Ok,I would like to thank you about the time and help you devoted to me!
But if someone get some new info about this,I would please to write on this thread!

Made a couple of edits in the post above. Might want to take a look at the link ;)

Thank you so much! :)

Oh,but I have already seen that link! It didn'h help me! I have tried those tweaks, but I still got issues!

Laptop? Try changing your power option to high performance instead of balanced. If you're having other issues, having a clean install of windows could help a bit.

P.S: you don't need to use so many exclamation points! :D

I have changed the power options, done a clean install of Windows, but it didn't help..

Edited title and original post to reflect the issue at hand and hopefully drive those that own the game in for help.
