As we live the age of game remakes, which game you would like to see to have a remake?

Actually what would be cool and not really a remake. Creative Assembly is known for Total War but they also created a 3rd person Action Game called Viking:Battle For Asgard. The issue is that the Game is locked at 30 FPS. With a modern system nothing you do can change it. The Game was created in an age where you could edit the script but that had no effect. Even 60 FPS would make the Game that much more enjoyable.

Neverwinter Nights 1
They already did an "EE" edition in 2018. Same with Baldur's Gate 1-2, Icewind Dale 1 and Planescape Torment. It's only Icewind Dale 2 EE that's missing because they lost the source code.

I’m not talking about EE this thread is about engine remakes. I’d love it remade using something gorgeous.

Will that really work though? This comment isn't aimed at you personally, but I think a lot of people are naive in thinking a "remake" can retain the character of engine-specific old-school games just with "better graphics". Baldur's Gate, NWN, etc, pretty much are all about Infinity / Aurora engine they were completely designed around. NWN in particular is more about the thousands of hours of Epic Modules (eg, Aielund Saga), made for nothing thanks to Bioware bundling the same Aurora Toolkit they used to make the game. Throw that away and "remake" the game in jack-of-all-trades Unity Engine minus the toolkit and modding, will it really be 'better' or just a pale shadow of its former self with sparkly bits stuck on top, but 20 years worth of mods gutted?...

I want the new experience though. As I think most people here do. I’m not trying to replay the game with DirectX 12 enabled. I’m trying to re-experience it. 100% I want a remake.

That was back in the day when people on the internet were debating whether or not the human eye could see above 24/30/60fps lol.

Pre mainstream high refresh adoption.

Hmmm. None. Lots
FF1, 4, 6
Chronotrigger
Some other nes snes n64 classics

Never finished the original as a kid, repurchased it some time ago from ebay but haven't played yet more than a little to check that it works..
Do you have the light-gun? If you do, it can be a lot of fun. If not...

I would love to see a full remaster of SuperMario64, StarFox64 and MarioKart64. A proper/faithful remaster of GoldenEye for PC would make my decade!

Forza Motorsport 2 or 4. Both are so good it literally hurts to see what they have produced with the latest one.

Nope, and I don't have a CRT anymore. But wait, wut? Dino Crisis is just a "RE with dinosaurs" type of a game, so why I would need a light gun

I'd like to see a Command & Conquer Generals + Zero Hour remaster (or sequel), but I have zero belief in EA these days, as they've killed off or severely damaged many of the franchises I loved over the years....

Another one would be remasters of Need for Speed UG and UG2

Remasters / reimaginings of Medal of Honor Frontline and Rising Sun would also be good to see

... It seems most of what I'd like to see is early EA stuff as they seriously have failed to deliver anything good for many years when it comes to these series

Star Wars Rogue Squadron - we got squadron(s), but it's really not the same at all
Call of Juarez
Vigilante 8 / Second offense
Halo CE - or all the MCC even (full modern remaster, RT, Upscalers etc)
GTA 3 / Vice City
Star wars Dark forces whole arc of Kyle Katarn, everything from Dark forces to Jedi academy
Star wars Shadows of the Empire
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer
Max Payne 1 and 2
Red Faction

In theory all being remasters, not remakes, respecting the source material and enhancing where possible. Very unlikely for many of these especially star wars with the de-canonisation when Disney decided to wreck one of the best and most recognisable franchises/household names of all time.

Highlighted those which I've played a lot back in the day. Especially GTA3 was mind-blowing in the early 2000s.

Good old crpgs: Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment, even Icewind Dale.
Also, Kotor (I think the recent attempt fizzled out?)

SEGA GT 2002 and Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun.

Deus Ex
Deus Ex Invisible War
Ace Combat 4 Shattered Skies
Metal Gear Solid 1-4 & Peace Walker, we're already getting 3 so maybe that will come true (only played MGS5)
Resident Evil 1 (already done, but still too old for me)
Red Dead Redemption
Maybe some Final Fantasy single player games
Kill Zone series
Resistance Fall of Man series

There was another I had in my mind that I forgot. With the exception of Ace Combat 4 I never played any of these before.

Leisure Suit Larry!

That's really the issue with a lot, if not all remakes of games that have gathered a cult following and lots of mod investment. Its the reason Bethesda won't say goodbye to their Creation POS engine, for example. Or think of Heroes of Might and Magic. If you play 3 now, the old version, you've got so much in terms of maps, sequels never really got to that level, and that's really the meat of the game after you've played the campaign(s).

What it does take though for something like that to re-emerge is really to start over from scratch... and yeah its always a huge gamble whether it will take off (Again)... but was that any different back then?

+1, and there is so much in terms of QoL and overall controls/camera that could be vastly improved today in NWN
