Does the aqua BIOS even have allow for higher power draw ? For all you know this could be a complete waste of time, if it's the same board I bet it has the exact same power limit.
Yes, i flashed the aqua extreme onto my sapphire nitro+, the max power limited was raised from 460w to 550w. A big jump.

Can you share how much performance gain and wattage you get out of it ?

@ Radeon - can you test please Cyberpunk non RT perf, what % gain you get?>

I don't have cyberpunk but you can get around 18 000 in time spy extreme, 545w during gaming depending on if it's cpu or gpu bottleneck.

Well that is strange as 3x8pin card should not be able to pull more than 525W ...

hey so i have a 7900xtx taichi and i was wondering do you think i would get any benefits from flashing the aqua bios and then the extreme bios on to my card if i still have the air cooler on it? now i understand if it wouldn't boost as high as it would be able to under water but i was thinking i might be able to get some benefits out of it.

On my nitro with stock cooler i got about 200mhz gain in clock speed, at the cost of noise(custom fan curve is a must)

A water block would have been beneficial for sure, lower temperature(higer clocks) and lower noise level as well.

Just remember folks, those are 1.8V SPI flashes. Not all programmers do it and some need level shifters.

Also... 3 8pin pcie can handle 1.5kW without problems. It is much more overbuild connector than everyone thinks. LN2 sessions have proved it over time.

Hey so i know its been a minute but i wanted to give you a update. So i finally got around to flashing my 7900xtx with the aqua and then aqua extreme bios and while i had the card open i replaced the thermal paste with a ptm7950 pad and so far its doing pretty good but i still need to run more tests and give that pad some time to adjust but as of right now in the cyber punk benchmark its stable at 2.8-2.9ghz with a peak clock of 2.955ghz with load temps of 69 average and 104 hot spot and its also apparently pulling like 500-600w lol. Now i am going to go back and make sure my cooler is tight and see if that hot spot drops some but i really think hat pad just needs more time because ive heard they have like a burn it period so it sould hopefully get better.

Yes you are limited by the temp, i'm usually around 3100 mhz on the core.

When you flashed the nitro plus xtx did you have to flash both chips like people have been having to do with the tuf card and/or what chip did you flash ? Thank you in advance

With the nitro card just remove the backplate and flash the 8pin chip on the back with the ch341a programmer and neo software.Make sure to flash the default ASRock bios from techpowerup and then extreme bios from ASRock website with exe .

Can anyone share what is the real world fps gain, on watercooling and Extreem BIOS from ASRock? If CP2077 is around to test that would be great! I would say i didnt had the time to flash, but at some point for sure!

You can't flash Extreme bios directly you have to flash regular aqua bios first then update it with the asrock flash tool.

hello everyone! sorry for necroposting, but i've flashed my 7900xtx nitro+ (silent bios spi) and i'm having a problem of POSTing with it (stuck at B2 or VGA led).
in 2024, do nitro+ REALLY need a second SPI flashed to aqua bios?
(flashed bios from this post https://www.overclock.net/threads/o...02706/page-138?post_id=29162630#post-29162630)
You have to flash the standard bios first:

Also, do a verification after flash. Maybe you have a bad clamp connection.
