ASRock Unveils World's First Mini-ITX Socket LGA2011v3 Motherboard

People run octo AMD chips in one.. This uses less power... so... Im sure it will be fine.

Most people find that these chips run cooler temperature wise (not heat mind you) than Haswell/Devil's Canyon CPUs... 'dat solder and all. ;)
I don't believe there are any AM3+ MITX motherboard out there or did I miss one? But yea this would be fine as I see no reason you can't do something like this on this form factor its just missing some of the points X99 has. Would honestly be a sweet tiny machine for some crazy gaming rig in a tiny case.

This + 5960X + Titan Z/R9 295X would be an absolute mini monster. And you could theoretically fit this into a case the size of a shoebox. POWAHHHH
I know right, I would love to try a 5820K + R9 295X2 with core clocks at 4.5ghz inside something like a tiny MITX case. Would be hilarious to see someone gaming at 1440 144hz easily in something so small!

I really wish they had found a way to run Quad channel memory on this size would probably be the only improvement I would seek. But that would be very hard...

I was wondering the same thing, but there is simply no space.
Also for the GPU side of things, Titan X is as fast as Titan Z, so you'll be able to build faster gaming shoe-box machine on LGA1150 platform.
When (and if) dual GM200 comes out, these kind of boards will make sense for ridiculous steam machines again.

They might be able to fit triple channel in though, that would be a nice compromise at least.

I reckon an AIO will fit nicely if you put it in the right itx case.

The size of the cooler shouldn't be the problem but the different mounting hole layout

... or be completely batshit crazy and squeeze in four SO-DIMM slots

Yeah AIO for servers will work otherwise your looking at the noctua air coolers meant for xeons

Edit: Just realised this thing won't work without a graphics cards

Excellent. Now go make a FM2+ nanoITX board.
