ASUS C90 customizable notebook details

The biggest shortcoming of notebooks has been the limited upgradability. ASUS is looking to change all that with the C90, which lets you upgrade all the major parts: CPU, memory, graphic card, hard drive & optical drive. Interesting, I wouldn't call it a notebook, rather a desktop replacement laptop. Basically a desktop in small formfactor, as the batteries must last all but 12 minutes.

HDMI out is a nice addon right there. I like this. Ive always been worried of building a laptop because Im not too familiar with it and the upgradeability had me worried. With this, its seems like it would make it easier. If they can do this for Turion and Sempron Processors, they would have a hit on their hands.

anyone else see a giant vent that can be used as a fan? as for it being a desktop replacment, not really since it's a 15.4" notebook, it's more of portable desktop power (something laptop manufacutres have been promising for a while) but the battery really can't be all that great, but maybe with a little undervolting you could break the 2 hour mark.

If you look at the 2nd picture you can see 4 small fans that blow out of that vent.

lol i know, but it's a huge vent, most laptops have like one or two fans, not 4.

too big & may be too heavy to be classified as a notebook.... look like an old school notebook...

Well, my guestimate would be between 12 - 30 min on batteries, probably an hour if you haul around a 12v car battery.
