Hi !
I'm an happy Asus Graphic Card user.
I've tested my 6870 with Unigine Heaven, OCCT, and BF3 for hours and hours and hours :):):)
Stable settings are:

- Original voltage (1,2v) ---> 960/1150
- Overvolted (1,275v) ---> 1000/1150

No more overvolt is possible, core is too hot (now max. temp. is 101° in 30 minutes full stress test).

Well, now i want to mod and flash my overclocked/overvolted BIOS, with RBE 1.28.

I use ATIFLASH in dos with this command: "atiflash -p 0 bios.rom". All is done, but when I reboot, system not load OS and ..... BSOD ... DAMN !!!
Why ?? I've tested with an only overclocked bios (not overvolted) ..... BSOD ... DAMN !!!

Well, re-flashed original bios and all work again. ( ??? i don't understand ) :confused: :confused:

With original BIOS i've unistalled all ATI software and reboot with modded bios.

OK, now work. After driver installation: "Unknown device" ---> freeze ---> BSOD ... DAMN !!!

I've tested with catalyst full package 11.11, 11.11c and beta 11.12 (8.93), in XP Pro 32bit and Seven Ultimate 64bit
With original bios all work. :rolleyes:
With modded bios nothing work. :shadedshu

Why ??
Please help me !! :wtf: :eek: :wtf: :eek:

did you edit the clocks of the 6870 bios? You need to only change the bios voltage and overclock the card via software in windows. Wether it be CCC, MSI afterburner, etc. Windows won't boot with edited clocks on the 68xx cards.

Source: I have a 6870 and tried the same thing.

No. Change the clocks back to stock and mod the voltage only. Then set the card to the desired speeds in CCC once and leave alone. That is the fix.

Ok, but it's not a final fix...
Is a RBE problem for 6870 particular bios or a Win limitation or a driver limitation ??

Not for me.

I've opened original bios, modded voltage from 1.2 to 1.275 in "Clock info 00" (second window, first to the left), saved, flashed ... BSOD.

Original gpu-z saved bios is a .BIN file. RBE save .ROM file. Is this a problem ??
