Hello
I'm not the most tech savvy guy but every time I boot up my computer before I get to startup my screen goes black and I faintly see "Asus express gate not installed" then my fan shuts down the screen goes all the way black and I cant proceed any further, I still get power to my mouse and keyboard but my monitor goes into power saving mode, it worked perfectly fine before but it sat turned off for a few months and I just moved it to a different room and turned it on and the problems began.
appreciate any help I can get!

Probably dead CMOS battery + settings were reset to defaults.
Go to BIOS and check Express Gate option (and other stuff as needed).

I don’t have one. It’s a computer I got from somebody I used to know made for game design, is that going to be a major problem?

Flip it over write model number down and post it here, I will try to find a manual for it, typically a bios entry command is to press delete or f2 on keyboard numerous times upon turning it on.

I would conduct a visual inspection of the motherboard. We recently got a computer in that had been in storage (NOT environmentally controlled) for about 18 months. While not common, those CMOS batteries can leak and corrode. This, at best, blocks current flow through the battery socket. At worse, it can damage the socket, and perhaps the CMOS circuit too.

Does it have a harddrive in the system?
