Hi.
My Ares 3 is showing 23. october 2013 as a release date.

This date is certainly wrong as even 295X2 didn't exist in 2013.
I believe the correct release date was 4. september 2014.

Please correct it :)
Thanks

This date is for the R9 290X reference design, which uses the same GPU and same device ID as the Ares

The release date is for the Hawaii chip? Not the card that uses it. Ares is just 2x typical cores on one PCB. It's the PCB itself which makes it an awesome design, not the GPU part.
That being said, that's one hell of a card you got there!

EDIT: ninja'd by the Lord himself.

Shouldnt it show the release of THE CARD not the release of the GPU?
Tooltip also states, "Shows the official release date of this graphics card".

295X2 uses "Vesuvius" cores which is technically "Hawaii" cores. Release date 8.april 2014.

No, Its always showed GPU Core release date. And Vesuvius is the cute name AMD gave them, the actual GPU is EXACTLY the same as hawaii.

There's no technically. Vesuvius is the codename for the PCB. The chips are still Hawaii.
Accept it and move on.

There are tens if not hundreds of thousands of graphics cards available. It's impossible to have GPU-Z show the release date for each one. GPU-Z uses the Device ID for a number of things, including Release Date.
