HELLO:peace:
im new in this forum, and hoping here will be more lucky!

As title the problem is a (probably broken) ASUS DUAL RX 580 8 Gb....the card i use to do cryptocurrency stuff, and broked few month ago.
last week i took it back to make a gift for my little brother , hoping that the problem was just a question of bios, because a year ago when ive purchased the card, an already flashed Mining BIOS was with her from the seller.

So trying to fix the card, the first attempt was to flash a "STOCK" bios and install drivers but i was wrong, no one of the bios found here on TPU database resolved the situation. than ive tried several combination of bios and drivers (the older ones) but again no solution so my last thought is a hardware problem, but im not an electronic engineer so i hope some of you , found a solution for this type of problem or try to find it together!

WHAT IVE COLLECT :
  • With the card plugged in , system start flawles, the fans spins and the GPU warm up.
  • NO video output, everything is tested by igpu
  • the card is recognized from the system as RX 580 after driver installation.
  • GPU Z reconize the card, but miss of some values like texture fillrate and in monitor nothing show up
  • GPU TWEAK II reconize the card but without any interactions
  • drivers work strange, see later
  • Several BIOS flashed, same behavior all time
in this forum i read that it is recommended to try with older drivers 2019/2020 but they lead to a BSoD (thread stuck in device driver) during installation. Only lastest driver seem to work, but after the procedure , adrenalin says there is a compatibility problem between drivers and software. and in device manager still the yellow mark and the infamous error 43.
each test was performed in a sterile DDU environment.

so at this point only an hardware diagnostics can tell the truth, but as i mentioned, I don't know where to start, hope in some of you! :respect:
some pics of the card

Hynix MJR ram Asus Dual RX 580 O8G.

2017 04 17 are the latest bios for these cards, both verified here

There are unverified bios with the same dates above.

After flashing the Stock Bios.

Do an OS Removal and then a Clean untainted OS install.

Get latestmotherboard chipset drivers, install first.

Then

Get the Radeon Pro for Enterprise drivers.

If you still code 43, the card is broken from mining abuse and you might as well buy Him a BNIB RX580 or 590, and stop mining.

Hello.
Since you own an ASUS RX 580, let me remind you that your card have a design problem.
Some memory chips are exposed, they are not under thermal pads, that leads to early death.
Especially that you mentioned that it was used for mining, i would say that it is dead or near death.

today ive tried whats you suggested, but unfortunately its doesnt work...... still error 43

Error 43 is usually obtained when computer try to load the drivers to access the GPU.
Lack of communication with GPU gives that error.
So either the BIOS is wrong , or the GPU itself have a hardware failure.

i know that the design cooling system of the dual cards is inferior and not the best.
as you can see (hope you can see) in the attacched , the memories are covered with a brownish patina, like a burn.
in addittion, when the cooler was removed, there were clear black burn marks on the copper pipes and the rest of the heat sink.
ive cleaned easily with alcool

if the memories are broken or malfuncion , how can i check them?
and most important, where can i find spare parts such as memories and integrated chips?

im pretty sure thats this time is an hardware problem...

Exactly what i told you.
We suspect the GPU itself.
Because you tried to flash the BIOS, and @eidairaman1 provided you some links with original files, that means we passed that stage.
So i strongly suggest to bring the card to a repair shop.
I am sure this is a matter of hardware failure.
Memory errors are different. In memory errors you will have artifacts

I had an Rx470 that did that. I had to use atikmdag-patcher to get rid of the yellow mark and error.

Well , that is the easiest way to solve it.
Unfortunately it does not work in all situations.
Especially when it comes to hardware failure.

Not a 100% fix

Totally agree ! Btw i have witnessed memory artifacts of a 1070 strix (mods mats utility confirmed 2 banks faulty). And that card also had like 2 memory chips without a proper cooling nor airflow. Btw its not just asus doing such weird things, msi did that too with 580 armor (cooling is utter garbage) and 580 Gaming X (really good cooling), fun fact about those is that the pcb is the same, so i actually repaired a 580 8gb armor and slapped a gaming x cooler on it (including the backplate, every thermal pad etc). Nickel-coated base also allowed for an effortless liquid metal application.

Btw speaking of the op's gpu, the memory has clear signs of overheating.

So you replaced bga chips before?

Probably he did not, but i did.
I just received from repair shop one of my faulty cards, and it seems that 1 of my chips was gone.
The tech guy replaced it.
Flashed the original BIOS in it and returned it to me.
Now i have it under tests.
