Asus Xonar D2/PM good enough to music only?

i have been looking at this card Asus Xonar D2/PM in PCI will that be good enough when i am only listen to music ino it's labeled as Home Theater Audio card but will it be good enough to pure music only?

bcs i can get it kinda cheap ^^;

Asus D2/D2X line have always been high quality, I am sure most will be fine with a D2/D2X. So if you can get it cheap, go for it.

IIRC, you can change the opamps on the card too.

It's a good price, I say go for it.

Unless you are set only going stereo, D2 is good for general usage.

I was thinking more inline of only getting headphones and 2.0/2.1 speakers sets in the sense of stereo equipment, but yea, pretty much all music are 2 channels anyway.

yap, and i only got a Logitech Z-2300 speaker set it's 2.1 and i don't wanna upgrade it and i will use my Creative Aurvana Live! headphones for music too they are like soo good even on onboard audio 0.0

i can hear it's better than all the other headphones i have laying around.

I have that card, very good. I took it out and went back to on board because of a possible sale... I lasted all of a half a day and went back to the card

If any thing i be worried about my next upgrade and it fitting in the mobo with it being PCI.

Sure you can most likely find a new mobo when it's upgrade time but you might find your self more limited. Just imo is all as i would hate feeling a bit forced to get a mobo with PCI when the one i really like did not have one.

Although this is a none issue for me now with either using a ATI card or optical out which you find on most mobos today.

Might I also suggest the Azuntech Bravura? It's the card I am using (after selling my D2X) and I LOVE IT!!!!

If it's just for music consider a lower end Asus card like the DX, I have one and the music clarity compared to my shitty onboard Realtec is great, sat here now listening to some old school hardcore circa 1995 with PHONE headphones on and honestly I love it, will never stick with onboard since having a dedicated sound card, the Asus cards are of good music quality and clarity even with bassy shit like this, my one minor niggle is the lack of advanced options in the Xonar control panel, but I can always make my music sound to my liking with this card :toast:

that's US i won't import anything bcs than i need to buy taxes for it and that be expensive if gets taking at the import center so than i can just order it from germany instead for around 153,68usd / 107,6eur that's cheaper if it gets taking at the import center and i need to buy taxes

but i will see what i can digg up i saw the Xonar D2/PM don't have headphones jacket it's gone but i will see what i can digg up for a reasonable price ^^
