AMD released the ATI Catalyst 10.3 WHQL driver suite. Catalyst provides drivers and related system software for ATI Radeon, ATI FirePro, graphics processors, AMD 7-series and 8-series integrated graphics, AMD chipset system software, and drivers for ATI multimedia products. Version 10.3, like 10.2 promises to bring a series of significant additions to the feature-set, along with a long list of application-specific performance improvements.

Catalyst 10.3 introduces a set of additions to the ATI Eyefinity technology, such as display bezel compensation, per-display colour adjustments, multiple Eyefinity groups (which allows multiple Eyefinity display heads over available graphics cards and displays), and improvements to the display configuration switching. ATI hardware now supports stereoscopic 3D display over third-party middleware from the likes of iZ3D, DDD, etc., for output of stereoscopic L/R images at 120 Hz (60 Hz per eye). A number of bugs were also fixed. For more details refer to the Release Notes document.

Yay. Gonna test them now......

This is a review done on 10.3 driver ... vs. the previous 10.2 driver ---> http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/3194/ati_catalyst_10_3_windows_7_driver_analysis/index.html

And this is a review on 10.3 vs. the launch drivers ---> http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/3196/high_end_radeons_then_and_now/index.html

Some good gains noticeable :rockout:

When reading GTX 400 reviews in the coming week or two, make sure you keep an eye on the driver version that people are using. The GTX 400 series should be tested on a 197 driver. The same goes for the GTX 200 series models. As for the ATI models, make sure they're tested on either the Catalyst 10.3 or the 10.3a Preview Driver.

i changed to 10.3 over 103a just because im having stability issues but it seems there might be a little more 'juice in the can' with them.

I'd like to see some Metro 2033 results.

:D

does metro have a bench?

does metro have a bench?

Honestly I don't know, but you may be able to set a timedemo in the full game, but that's pretty useless if you don't have the full game.

well i do have the full game :).

Having issues tho at the moment with metro 2033 cant keep it stable with my card. Thankfully the card is being replaced soon anyways.

>.<

I'm looking forward to playing Metro 2033 but I really want a patch to be released so that it sorts out the performance issues and I was wondering what effects the 10.3 and 10.3a sets will have on the game.

first time i know ATI also have 3D view, i know it's only nvidia have 3D vision

Can anyone report noticeable improvements/changes with the 4850/4870/4890 ?

Thanks.

The biggest news here to me seem to be the introduction of support for their Mobility series products in their standard Catalyst suite. This is of course great news for all notebook users with ATI graphics because they now will receive monthly updates just like desktop users. Good job!

More info about this over here: http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3743&p=5

I'm just glad the driver team finally has the chance to work on optimization... yea!

nice driver at stock settings but Im getting random lock up's when over clocking the cpu.. wth?

If I go back to the 10.3preview cat problem solved... and one have any ideas why this is happening?

UPDATE * I think it's the new Antivir ver 10 I also d/l'd last-night that my be the problem.
I haven't had the lock up's sense disabling the real time protection

And they can still squeeze some more fps out of 4800 series... that is just sweet!

:twitch:

Wowwww, I'm not sure if I should thank Nvidia for this or ATI.

Haven't upgraded drivers since Decembers, looks like I now have a reason! :D

I downloaded them but i'm too lazy right now to change it. I'll probably do it over the week end.

I'm not the only one then

Anybody try these with an nVidia card being used for Physx/CUDA?

Just unloaded them. Was having shuttering and loss of FPS on my 5770 playing bfbc2. I think Ill sit this round of drivers out. Mine runs great with the 10.2 set.
