Hi there,

i know i have a "one-post" account, but i don't want to share Trojans or anything else.

I made a little Tool for ATi Overdrive, to Lock or Unlock it, so no-one will need to Reinstall CCC to "lock" it again.

I hope it will help someone ;)

Note: You need at least .Net Framework 2.0 to run this Little Tool
it's written in CSharp

Supportet Operating Systems: WinXP/Vista and 7

Very nice! Thank you for posting this and welcome! :toast:

Thanks ;) and Cheers :>

Sorry, i forgot the attachement :D now it's online ;)

Thanks for the tool. Can you explain why someone would want to lock Overdrive?

Myself has unlocked it, i want'd to change my Cooler-Speed but it doesn't worked and I searched for a Solution to Lock it so i was searching registry entries, Now i found the one Entry wich controls the statement in CCC.

That's the Reason why^^

I don't know if anyone will need it, but if.... he can't do anything stupid in the registry.

I found that sometimes an aftermarket/3rd party overclocking solution/program will have problems with Overdrive unlocked. :)

will have a look & see

Ok, I see now. Thanks for the info and welcome to the forum. Empath don't be a stranger here at TPU :toast:

Don't be a stranger is a saying - in this case it means we hope you stick around on TPU (instead of posting this and then dissapearing). Your sentences are very good btw :)

thanks :)

Welcome to TPU empath. :toast:
Don't forget to visit the Programming and Webmastering section. We're always happy to have more coders to help people with questions and such.

Nice work empath. I've always thought an option to lock Overdrive should have been included in CCC. I see this being very useful.

Can someone explain why you'd want to lock or even unlock CCC Overdrive?
What scenarios would you use this ?

Hmm... i guess that some people will need it when they will need to use theyr warranty but... yeah, its not that hard to just reinstall the catalyst all over again. anyway its good to have tools like that, it cant harm anybody right? :)
I also think that when the overdrive is unlocked it could mess overcloking sometimes.

brilliant software man, I remember one case when I required it greatly. Using overdrive(after unlocking), my idle clocks refused to go below 400/900 which was really heating up my card for no reason.

FOr such situations, this tool will be a lifesaver

I needed this!! Thanks so much and welcome to TPU.

don't use NVIDIA.... use ATi and you will fly!

you can stay for me with excellent tools like this and this in your signature!!

would this program work on a laptop with an X1600MR ??

My friends 6950 won't downclock on idle when it's overclocked with afterburner. I might recommend him use this to see if locking ccc helps.

Just so you know it requires restart to apply the change. (or it did for me)

Thanks, this might come in handy.
