No, GPU-Z is reporting the specs of 4870...GDDR5 @ 900MHz (effective 3.60 GHz), 750 MHz core.

Yep, that 4870 DRINKS. Perhaps 4850 is the way to go until AMD solve power issues. Seems like the 4870 is like the "P4 Extreme Edition". A little bit of extra performance, but a lot of extra power. The second differential performance/power is seriously negative (calculus).

Look @ this score (from jimmyz's Vision Tek 4850 review):

Compare it to these scores (taken from freaksavior's HD 3K Reference, Support, and 3dmark score page):

It grabs the 2nd score and it isn't even "super clocked" yet! Plus, considering this is the lower of the next gen 2 cards (single GPU), WOW!!
Youd probably right. The default clock is 750 mhz. Strange the bandwith number though

keep in mind its new, the test of a user at hke is with old mb, pcie 1.1, and etc
we are yet to see proper reviews from w1zz and techreport, guru3d, anandtech
and GPU-Z must be showing a bug, meybe hardcoded info for 4850?
after what i have heared 4870 should be around 20% faster than 4850
lets see how it compares with 4850 when NDA goes off and sites can post reviews ;D

btw: if asb2106 had a 4870 he would have gotten over 20k points i bet :p

The Hong Kong 4870 3DMark06 benchmark is on E8200 CPU @ 3.2GHz while jimmyz's 4850 benchmark is run on a QX9650 CPU @ 4GHz. How much does the CPU score play in the 3DMarks score?

4850
3DMarks: 15824
SM2.0: 5669
HDR: 6988
CPU: 6337

4870
3DMarks: 13481
SM2.0: 5637
HDR: 6902
CPU: 3008

Look at the difference in the CPU score.

Thats an awesome 3dmark score, look at the SM scores. And the CPU is only at 3.2ghz.

I was planning on crossfiring these things, but two power connectors? :wtf: I don't think my power supply could handle two of those
