Dunno if this is an audio issue, browser issue or something else but i'm listening to an audio book and i some times go to the below page to see if prices on computer hardware have gone down in my country since i last checked:

I keep forgetting NOT TO DO THIS when i'm listening to an audio book ... (using VLC, in case it helps) ...

Can anyone help out in order to try and pinpoint the source of the problem by opening whatever video file (it happens with these too, and I THINK even with youtube videos), and then visiting the above linked page?

That page hasn't anything playing (not for me, with my browser config), though it could have, and is that what's being blocked that messes up the sound? Dunno ...

If this happens to anyone else, then it isn't specific to my hardware, meaning it really is a software issue. Wondering if it's firefox specific or if it happens with other browsers, and even other OSes.

Didn't affect me.

Tested with Win10 Build 19045, Firefox 109.0.1

Youtube/VLC to Equalizer APO to generic drivers to external USB DAC.

[edit] Don't have linux machine with audio.

... why didn't you test this before posting here?

Do the books have any DRM?

Test a different browser.

Test different files audio files in VLC.

Test the files in a different player.
