I've been using i7-2600k OC'ed to 4.5GHz for years now, paired with different GPUs until a GTX 1070, a local cheap AVR worked fine and did not pose ANY problems during the many years of usage. this is the link, it was powering a 650W PSU and a 2.1 Speaker with Good Subs. My brother also has an i7-4970 with a gtx 1070 and it is running with the same model AVR. we live in the same house. another brother has an i5-7400 and GTX 960, with the same model AVR.
however upon reading and researching for my next build(which is a 8700k and GTX 1080) I read that you need a decent UPS for high end PC builds that can handle the power, Now I'm wondering if I should continue using that AVR? Did we just get very lucky for 7 years? My current PC is plugged in to the wall as I have yet decided whether to use the AVR or not, what do you guys think? Where I live, there are sudden power outages like once or twice a year (which never broke any of the computers here at home)
