Does the video capture card do the video encoding itself? Or does the CPU or the GPU still do that and the capture card is essentially just a means of intaking a video stream and feeding it to the CPU/GPU?

If I'd have to take a guess, I would bet my money on the latter.

!! The capture cards are really going backwards !!!

They have not evolved the capture cards

They have only put a HDMI 2.1 pass through, transmission/recording capacity is inferior, they do not capture 4k HDR at 60fps.

I have a HDMI duplicator that duplicates the signal from the game PC. One output is HDMI 2.1 and the other HDMI 2.0. It costs 90 euros.

I can use a 4k 120fps monitor and transmit / record 4k HDR 60FPS with the Avermedia 573 or Elgato 4k pro MkII through the other duplicated output.

If you have these cards, this is the way to have the best of both models. Because Elgato is also releasing a similar product.

I have a question. Does having the same image output (game or desktop) on two video outputs of the graphics card increase the input lag on one of the two?

Benchmark Scores Benchmarks in 2024?
Great card, but very expensive considering the only upgrade over the previous model is enhanced pass-through capabilities.

I wonder how much it would have to cost to be able to capture those pass-through resolutions.

can’t find any benchmarks showing what happens when duplicating your main computers video signal. i can’t imagine it’s 0 but i’m curious what it is.
