Maybe someone can help...
A family member who lives far away has emailled my girlfriend to say that they downloaded the free version of AVG 8 (they had AVG 7 before)...

After installing AVG 8.0 they cannot open more than one instance of internet explorer.
He uninstalled AVG and still has the same problem. Any ideas what could be causing this? Im pretty sure hes on XP still as its an oldish computer

Does AVG 8 have some type of script blocking on it? I'm not sure cause I'm to use to Avast. I have them check this link out for Windows Live Scan, http://onecare.live.com/site/en-au/default.htm?mkt=en-au, and just do the full scan. Has a great registry cleaning utility and my thought is I only trust the manufacturer of the software to clean out the registry. Also are they using IE7? I would have them uninstall IE7 unless they've installed SP3 after installing IE7 cause it could mess up and IE just not work at all. Other recommendation would have them try firefox and see what that does. If it works fine then clearly IE is really messed up but if it doesn't then TCP/IP or some other network related issue has arose.
