Vuze HD network

I can't access it for long very long now , like half a year or even more.

It shows a black screen and it doesnt' load at all.

I can't view or download my favourite shows , it's a collection of freeware sharewave , and i like it because it's good HD quality and fast DL, plus the vuze HD player has many codecs and plays just about anything i tried.

Can somebody confirm if it's working.

They probably got taken out by Big Media due to their obsession with internet "piracy".

Ya know, looking at their website, I think they've pulled support for the HD Network, as they don't mention it or give screenshots any more. I've used Vuze before and remember seeing this feature splashed big all over their website, so it really does look like Big Media has strangled another innovative startup in the name of "protecting copyrights". :banghead:

I remember that there were a lot of independent artists who keenly submitted their music and videos to Vuze, so the piracy argument is really a smokescreen for total control of content distribution by anyone.

Finally, are you using an old version of the Vuze client? Get the latest one and see if the feature is there... I doubt it. :(

ofcourse im using the latest one

so that's it ! I was suspecting that they just pulled the thing, it was so cool i mean it was a freaking favurite for me , used to watch popluar tech shows and the stuff that was free, it was very big , ah i miss it , FUKC !

Sorry we have Hulu and such, thats what I meant about others;)

LOL

Hulu ? Those are full movies and TV shows, i don't need that, i guess you never saw what vuze HD network was ?

I guess that something on the HD network was illegal , is that the reason ? it was quite a lot of stuff there so i didn't saw everything , i didn't even have a chance to see a lot , there were many categories.

that is payable and not even outside US , that's crap. Vuze HD was the best thing ever, sadly , i now see that Azureus appears to be silently sued or what, but why the HD network , it WAS COMPLETLEY NOT piracy. ahh it boggles the mind.

Hulu ? Wtf

I've used it before and saw that you could indeed get "illegal" copyrighted content, as well as the stuff put there by independent content owners. I'll bet my bottom dollar that Big Media strangled them over this.

I'm sure I remember something about this getting shut down a while back, so I tried googling for it, but can't find anything on it. I can't believe how well they censored this.

Look, they've got a forum over there. Why note browse it or post your question over there. I bet you get your answer in a couple of minutes. Then why not share it with the rest of us here? :toast:

so enlighten me. I see it says its an easy way to find, download, and play HD content. So I assume you are torrenting (whatever) and it has a built in player. As I said Hulu is a legal version. If your content is "questionable", I suggest a torrent app and a player, and I shouldn't have even said that:(

@sneeky

As I explained in the previous post, the HD network was used by independent artists themselves to promote their works. As such, it was an excellent platform for this and perfectly legal, as Ruski says.

Unfortunately, just because the service could also be used to infringe Big Content's precious f*cking copyright (just like a photocopier, optical drive etc can) it looks like they successfully killed it off.

Therefore, Ruski is quite right to want this service and be pissed that it's gone: it was very good at delivering new and original content from independent artists and there aren't any others like it that I know of.

wouldnt sites like youtube.com, ifc.com and break.com fill these voids?

the only things they lack are copyrighted movies..

but now you have hulu plus and netflix. So for around 8$ a month you can stream most stuff and not have to worry about jail time :)

No, it's not the same. The Vuze network gave you a structured portal that presented new content to you in a very user friendly way - a bit like the Steam platform. This made browsing and obtaining content very easy and very user oriented.

And the whole point is that the content was free, Hulu and others like it are not. A lot of artists put their work up on Vuze for anyone to download and share. You don't get that on Hulu, it's all Big Media and Big Copyright stuff there. Fine if you want it, but see how they've strangled the independent player that wants to use a different business model?

This is all about protectionism of big, established players and unfortunately, they have such deep pockets, that they can buy the US government to act as their sock puppets and crush any new competition all around the world.

These new legal "agreements" being drafted around the world, such as ACTA & COICA are the manifestation of this corruption. Just read p2pnet and techdirt that I pointed to above, if you want to learn about it from people that can explain it much better than I can.

It's really depressing when you think about it.

exactly , and sneekypet , im not torrenting a lot at all , the programs is legal , the specific content isn't , but all i wanted is exactly the stuff that HD network was made for.

in honesty , in every honesty , i buy games that are worth buying and i play them constantly , the games i played but not bought were a minority, since it acted only like a demo , and this is a big fact that probably NOBODY of the business-mans understand because they have no experience that the torrenting people are half or even mostly the customers them selfs. it's a wide wide expnations and that would need professional testing which would need a new thread in here ... (testing doesn't happen a lot since it's not supported by them , they rather get away with it , since the truth would probably make all these antipiracy stuff useless , they don't really give money to artists , the RIAA keeps half(?) for them self)

Off to the ... well , discovery , all this time , since FEB 2010 , i didn't knew SINCE YESTERDAY , that my brother's PC actually has a working Vuze with HD network , i have noidea what setting i did wrong or what (i customize/tweak a lot) , so i deleted pretty muhc everything about vuze/azureus , registery clean , and copied over the installation from his PC , and it works.

I guess , ?Thousands? of people don't have access, because the sort of a BUG ?!

All i see is something that you agree with me on this censorship speculation , but please confirm if it works or not for you.

I can upload the whole installation for others if requested. Fact is , the point is to avoid the installer on the official site , apparently doesn't work ?

There might be a possibility that deleting only Azureus profile folder in AppData (application data) might fix the problem and the installation copy would not be needed but WHY i didn't test this very easy idea before :shadedshu

One thing is for sure , the OLD HD network UI was a lot better than the new , and generally the forum is outraged that the new azureus is just wrong , the Vuze player is really bad since it has this stupid flash-like scan slider which is very inaccurate (much like youtube's one)

Well a great chance is that older released work when updated , but the new instaler seems to be culprit , the only how to confirm this is that one guy who has a nonworking HD network , removes or renames (backups) his "Azureus" folder in AppData , and then tires to launch the program to make a new profile , if that's not working , the problem is the official installer, which version started this i have no idea , but certainly somewhere between February and July 2010 the latest installer ceased working (if that's the case path, guessing forward:)) since i reformatted in July 2010 and I install most of always used programs in the first week of system setup.

Here's the installation that WORKS. (i really don't know if it was being updated but as i look , the settings are defaulted of course , you need to run this on clean install , but you can also try it if it works with your profile , i didn't tried yet)
