Hello!
I have an MSI B460 Torpedo motherboard with a 10400f. Currently, I am occupying both PCIe x16 slots with GPUs (the first slot supports x16 mode, the second one - x4) and using three SATA drives. I am thinking about replacing two of those drives with an M.2 NVMe one. The mobo has two M.2 slots.
From what I've read in the mobo's manual, adding a SATA SSD to the first M.2 slot will disable the first SATA port. Separately, installing an M.2 drive into the second slot will render the second PCIe x16 slot unavailable.
My question is, can I install an NVMe drive in the first M.2 slot without giving up on any of PCIe lanes for both of my videocards? If I can, will this action disable any SATA ports?
Also, hypothetically, If I had only one GPU installed and didn't care about the second PCIe x16 slot, would I be able to occupy both M.2 slots with NVMe drives? What would happen to SATA ports in this case - would any of them be disabled?
