i saw some kingston on newegg for $169.99 for 2x1GB with CL5.

anyone recommend anything better?

crucial, muskin, g skill, super talent.

all known for using micron d9's either all of the time for a great percentage of the time.

Corsair is another great brand ive been using them for years now untill I got my DDr2-800 Kingstons.

Crucial Ballistx are the best at the moment, IMO

I love mine:p....And they'll hit 1200MHz EASY:)

Edit: Wait, you already have Ballistx, why are you getting new ram?...run those suckers at 1200MHz:p

Your 5600 is doing very well. :toast:

My 1200MHz score was from a set of Crucial Balistix PC6400.

I just got a set of Transcend AXeRam 1200MHz today tho. 1200MHz 5-5-5-15 2.2v for $132. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820208343

Got it up to 1400Mhz 5-5-5-15 2.34V already.

@Athlon- It's no problem on the score, man. It happens. Also, don't add this, it's on my Intel System. Might slap it in the AMD setup for some benches in the future tho. lol.

:)

yeah, tracers and lanfest go really high!

see i bought ballistix 6400 and i can barely hit 1.1ghz with 2.4v and stock voltage is 2.2v

Try 5-5-5-18 timings, with 2.25V, that seems average for ballistx

OCZ Flex XLC Edition, comes with HS. CL5 ( 5-5-5-18 ). A friend of mine bought a new system last week, he has theese installed (2x1024Mb). He wanted Mushkin, but right now they are too expensive..

sure i'll give it a shot.

What timing's did you use when you tried for 1100Mhz??

Judging by a lot of users' choice, there's this underdog company, the Team group. They make this kit: Team XtreemTXDD2048M1200HC5DC.

This is the best PC2-9600 Dual-channel 2GB kit.

I rum my Mushkins at 1100 2.1 vdimm 5-5-5-12

I run my ballistix pc6400 @ 1160mhz 2.4V 5-5-5-15. or if you wanted to save some money, get the ballistix ddr2-1066 and overclock it.. a little more headroom.. and as show before.. the transcend axeram is BADASS...

i think for my next system in gonna get the transcend axe ram pc9600

I just ordered the DDR2 1200 Axe ram and an Asus Maximus, I can't wait!!! Except I have to for the CPU I want.

I just ordered that kit. Hope to hit 1200 speeds with it.:D

Patriot offer good stuff. Even ADATA. These days you dont *HAVE* to get expensive DDR2 to get memory that clocks well, even most DDR2-800 kits these days will clock to about 1066MHz @ 5-5-5 timings on 2.2-2.3v.
