Best 7900xtx to buy to have flashed with AQUA BIOS?

I'm looking to upgrade my 2070s to the 7900xtx, and read that the AQUA Bios has the best performance. The GPU will be liquid cooled, I'm just wondering what 7900XTX model has a similar PCB layout to the Asrock 7900xtx Aqua. I'm more than happy using the CH341a programmer. :)

Well you already know you need the CH341a programer and pretty much have to take the card completely apart to get to the BIOS chips.

As for card. Sapphire is a good candidate

I thought about doing this to the Red Devil, but after reading up and pushing the card to 3ghz just with stock power, I didn't see the need to do all that work for 100mhz.

The only thing to consider is the video output configs, look for a card that has the same outputs as the Aqua or you'll have some non-working ports. As for VRMs, usually all the higher end cards from their respective manufacturers can handle the higher power draw with ease, so Nitro+, Red Devil etc. Considering you'll be liquid cooling the card even some mid range cards could handle it, like Hellhound etc. so you're pretty safe. I've read that some ASUS cards don't play nice with the BIOS flashing, haven't looked deeper into it.

They might be using the same PCB across their lineup. The best would be to look up PCB pics for those cards. That will help you find out if the Challenger or Phantom share the same PCB as the Aqua.

"performs the best".
there is no difference except of powerlimit and clockspeeds. and these differences are literally in the low single digit percentages.
buy any model with a decent high powerlimit (any high end model) and you're golden.

Thanks for all the info guys, in my country the Sapphire Nitro+ 7900xtx + Asrock 7900xtx Taichi are very similar in price, so torn between them.

The Taichi has the same video outputs as the aqua, looks to be the same 22 phase design, so it is looking like the ideal one.

I know there won't be a huge performance uplift but thought I might as well do it, as I'm taking apart the card anyway to put it on a block.

Make sure when you get it join the 7000 GPU thread.

What power limit has this Aqua VBIOS?
