HAHA YES! I used to play that all the time :toast: That and Donkey Kong Country, which, for the time, the graphics were awesome! :rockout:

Oh man, I haven't heard anyone say "hella" in a long time!! I grew up in Cali and we said that all the time, but here in the midwest people wouldn't even know what you were talking about if you said that. Thnx celidee, that was nice and refreshing :toast:

Let's see... anyone play the game Jackal for Nintendo? Remember, you were the two little army jeeps driving around shooting stuff? (think contra in a Jeep Wrangler) How about good old Sonic on the Genesis?

Dude FINAL FANTASY series and the Zelda SERIES HANDS DOWN!!! their so awsome.

Oh, what about all the Pokèmon editions?
I mean, who hasnt ever fought with now 3 hundreds of those different monsters, thats one of the most addicting game series in the world

Everyone forgot about bomberman, very addicting game, still play it sometimes on a gameboy

agreed! but BombermanDS is good in multiplayer, too :)

You need to add Unreal Tournament 2004, Timesplitters: Future Perfect (for the PS2) and one new obvious one I'm suprised no one has mentioned (at least I don't think they have) Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. Sorry if any of those have already been listed. :)

Edit: and a couple more big names: Medal of Honor: Allied Assault and the Red Alert series.

Edit2: Just realised you've listed Command and Conquer Series.

Edit3: and a couple more I like but might not quite make the grade: Rise of Nations (legends is incredible) and the Need for Speed series. This list is going to be impossible.

Even though it doesn't come out until tomorrow and I have only played the demo, I was more blown away by the first 30 minutes of this game than by any other I have ever played (and that's saying something): Prey.

No doubt about it, will be an uber *$%&#$($% favorite, I can't even imagine the multi-player potential that this game has, it's undescribably brilliant, twisted and total thrill to play. If you a decent graphics card, download the demo. If you love FPS's, you won't be sorry. (eww... sorry if that sounded like a canned announcement :D )

:rockout: :rockout: :rockout: :respect: :respect: :respect: PREY

Ok I am just doing series of games now.

plz put in cod2, bf2 (best game ever)

They're both already in the list...

Splinter Cell Series should definately be included

Total War series is missing, especially the Rome Total War

i think everyone here should play N (search N+metanet) it's the dopest shit around

i've played more of this game in the last two years than all my other games combined, easy

and it's free!

The Sims Series The sims 3 line is really awesome and sims 4 is going to be really cool in 2014.

The old Sierra *Quest Games (Space Quest, King's Quest, Police Quest, etc.)
Homeworld Series
Wing Commander series
Mechwarrior series
The original console versions of the EA sports series
Freelancer
Jedi Knight series
Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2
Fallout series
Full Throttle
Mass Effect series
Baldur's Gate
Planescape Torment
Icewind Dale
Arcanum
The Civilization series
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
X-COM series
Syndicate series by Bullfrog
System Shock 2
TIE Fighter
THQ wrestling games on N64
Ultima series, including Ultima Online
Various flight sims in the 80's & 90's (Jane's Combat, Falcon, etc)
Star Control
Master of Orion
Descent series
Day of the Tentacle
N64 Star Wars game (The one with Dash Rendar)
Various BBS games.
& many, many more. It was easier to play games back then, you could loan out or trade easily with no DRM (Except some games made you answer questions from the game manuals) And all the free time when you are young.

I remember when we got 3dfx OpenGL graphics back in the day, it totally changed everything.
Some of my friends thought we'd be doing shit like in the movie Hackers by now.

#1 on my list is the GTA series, best games ever, great open world gameplay, the upcoming GTA V would surely strengthen this choice of mine

Top 2 is probably Half-Life, not just the game itself, but the whole series, even the community around it, which spawned dozens of mods like Counter Strike and inspired dozens of games like Crysis

The Top 3 is hard to choose, so many games in my head fighting for that spot, I would probably settle for The Elder Scrolls series for now, awesome rpg games.

DotA should be in the list, agruably the most popular game in the world today.

I'm surprised no one said Assassins Creed yet, it's story alone makes it worthy to be included in the discussion.

EDIT: holy balls i'm a victim of necroposting

All Valve games except Dota series and left 4 dead which I've not played ATM. IMO Valve made and still makes gorgeous games.
Age of Empires 2
Empire Earth 1
Bioshock Infinite
Super Mario 64 DS and Super Mario Bros 1 and 3 on NES.
Need for Speed Hot pursuit (1998) and Most wanted (2004)

EDIT: LOL necroposting

Yeah, DOTA 2 should be on the list. I play that pretty often on my linux machine.

Haha just noticed the date of ths thread.

can't believe Star Wars knights of the old republic isn't on that list. I'm in love with RPG's and after all this time since KotOR's release i have yet to find a game where you actually feel you're in it and affecting everything.

My top 5...

1) Ocarina of Time (boring pick, I know, but I think it's the closest thing to a perfect game ever made)
2) Halo (this game gets way more hate than it deserves in the PC community... it was a game changer for the FPS the same way the original Half Life was, and IMO it's much more fun to actually play than Half Life)
3) Morrowind (the best of the excellent TES series)
4) Mass Effect 2 (Bioware's best work by far, IMO - even surpassing KOTOR, and probably the best character driven RPG ever)
5) Starcraft (Best RTS ever made)

Many years ago a wise man said:

TTDX is godly, people are still addicted.
Settlers 2 has a similar problem.
HoMM 3

Those are games that are truly classics, can't say that for most of the above games.

And that have not changed.

Anyway I will probably say Heroes of Might and Magic 3, OR Deus Ex. BUT I always say to people that if they will just play one game in their life, that game should be The Longest Journey. I really wish someone makes a HD version of it, that would be great. :(
