Best GPU Cooler for $$$?

this has come up elsewhere.. its supposed to be a bios thing.. they show up as a 480 core with another bios flashed in.. my 480 wont manage 560 stable no pencil mod mind u.. yours i think is a 480..

but I unlocked it... 480's i hear need the hard mod to unlock... I just changed bios

pro's use r423 if im not mistaken... a tad better the xl's b/c of better ocing capabilities. 480's dont need a hard mod to unlock. most unlock with just a flash of the cores.

It's the R480, i'm pretty sure. Your card uses the R430 bios, and shows up as the R430.

It's really up to the manufacturers of the card whether the chip is hardlocked or not, in sapphire's x800gto2 they just use a 12 pipe bios, which can be flashed.
