best Multimeter under £20for Motherboard testing

I'm saying that Fluke / etc. etc. are over $100
I understand what you are saying and agree - in part.

You don't have to spend $100 to get that level of accuracy. Many meters are more expensive because they have more features, have a bigger, brighter display, come with additional probes and accessories, a fancy case, etc.

There's no question (at least in my mind) that Fluke is a highly reputable brand and they got that way by making quality, reliable products. But, IMHO (as a long time tech) consumers pay extra to have those "F L U K E" letters stamped on those products.

Edit comment: Fixed a couple typos.

I think you're misunderstanding my post.

I'm saying that Fluke / etc. etc. are over $100 because 3-digits accuracy cannot be faked and has fundamental expenses (noise requirements, well made designs, more expensive components) than 2-digits accuracy that you'd probably get from a $20 multimeter.

I'm not necessarily saying "people should buy the $100+ multimeters" (though any EE should care about this level of accuracy and therefore buy it at a minimum IMO). I'm saying you can make the decision whether or not you need that accuracy, as that's the biggest difference between $150 multimeters and a $20 one.

Yeah no I got it. OP is not an EE, or does electronics (as in "properly") for a hobby. A Fluke is a waste of money on that level. It's like telling someone who needs a screwdriver to change a 9V the batteri on something (say a DMM) to buy a Wera or Wiha screwdriver. Or tell someone who wants a drill so they can hang up something in their apartment to get a Hilti. Or someone who needs a general purpose wire cutter to buy the pro ones for €200. Tools for the job, and expensive tools are not always the correct tools for the job.

Only 3 reviews on Amazon o_O

VICI VC97A 3 3/4 Auto range digital multimeter all function T-RMS back light

Amazon reviews are shite, generally. Age has nothing to do with it, it's not like the new ones are better or has stuff you need in.

On a related note since the OP seems to be getting into electronics, I would greatly recommend the book
  • Practical Electronics for Inventors
If one wants to save money, one could get the 3rd edition
