I have been looking at 2.5 SSD,s and like to know what are the best second tear SSD,s.We all know that Samsung and Crucial are the top grade ones.Another thing that came to mind was Dram ,i was unaware of Dram until i watched videos on SSD,s.I see that very few SSD.s have Dram on them.
Goof ild Linus. :) And not forgetting MLC, TLC, and SLC .Another one from our friend Linus

For SSds none of that matters. They will all feel the same unless you get super cheap but even the BX200 is a great drive without DRAM.

I was thinking about the the budget Crucial BX500.
There is very little in the drive.I would go for the 480 one.

Even drives from Team and Kingston are excellent value for money SSDs. Just get whatever the cheapest is in your area. Usually in Canada you can get Team and Kingston for $100 for 1TB and 2TB for $199-220. I am not sure where you are though. Some Adata drives seem to have issues but I can't speak to that.

No don't get Adata. Get a Crucial or Kingston instead. Adata seem to have focused on putting all of their good NAND on the higher end skus and drives like the 630 get the leftovers.

I have a few WD/SanDisk SSDs that seem fine so far. Granted, the ones I have are NVMe.

I've had my two 1TB Crucial MX500s for a little over a year, and they're both at 99% life remaining after 9.2TB of writes split across both drives, which matches their 360TBW endurance pretty well.

The MX500 is the one I would really recommend. I don't have any experience with BX500s, and from what I know they are DRAM-less.

I've had mixed experiences with ADATA and PNY. Had an ADATA drive (either SU800 or SU655) die recently in my sister's computer, and PNY CS900s wear out real quick (only 40TBW endurance for the 120GB ones)

I have 2 BX500s in RAID 0 and have almost 11 TB written (Epic) but I still show 100% life. The fact that they re without DRAM does not in anyway effect the write speeds.

For main disk after Samsung evo you can look at Crucial mx500 and WD blue. If it’s for storage you won’t notice any difference with bx500, but the price difference from mx500 might not be worth it, depending on the market.

Hear, hear. Got one myself, couldn't be happier.

A SATA SSD released over two years ago is hardly top/high end. It's damn good perf/$, that's what it is.
Any SSD is good as long as you don't buy the bottom barrel from Brands that make their own NAND e.g. AData SU630, 8100 (NVME).

I have 2 of these in RAID 0 in my HTPC. (Sometimes they are $89)

This is no faster or slower than these in RAID 0 (Cheapest 2TB SSD)

I also had 2 Sandisk Ultra 1 TB (sold those) that were considered the fastest SSDs ever since SSD saturated the SATA bus. Those were no faster or slower than these drives.

For main disk after Samsung evo you can look at Crucial mx500 and WD blue. If it’s for storage you won’t notice any difference with bx500, but the price difference from mx500 might not be worth it, depending on the market.
Why would you want an SSD when NVME is in some cases cheaper. Even this would blow an EVO out of the water.

I was impressed by this guys video on the Lexar NS100.Good test results
and considering it is half the price of the Samsung. o_O

The reason is that i am using an old Dell PC .

I bought this secondhand SSD i hit gold on this one the health check was done by me hardly used at all :) .If i do buy a second hand one again i will make sure the seller shows a health check of the SSD.I would have thought it should be mandatory when selling second hand SSD,s

I bought another seconed hand ssd ,a Lexer allthough it has been hardly used ,as you can see from the info the temperature is a lot higher than the Intel .And the speeds are a lot lower. The Intel one is a lot better.I don,t know how they the Lexer got such good results ,against the Samsong? And i got such a low result myself? o_ONeedless to say i am dissapointrd especilly as the Lexer had hardly been used.
