I've seen Transformer Prime sell at microcenter for $300. The TF300 can also hang around that price. Once in a while you'll see an Ipad2 on sale for $300.
As far as value the Nexus 7, Nook and Kindle fire HD are top of the list. I have the Ipad2, Kindle Fire HD, and looking to get the Transformer Infinity for its HD screen and IPS+ in sunlight. I need it for photography this summer. Ipads sucks outdoors along with every other tablet I've tried. Transformer infinity is the only one that I've been able to use in direct sunlight. I will bet that if you wait within the next 2 months and hang around amazon, then you will find a like new condition one for about $300
