Best to use as a server?

8Mbit overall speed... I make that 160kb up, 800kb down. It'll do until I find a better one...

speedtest.net

run a test and show me results on your current

With 2 computers connected

your gonna need a whole lot faster than that. Add a 0 to the end of both numbers

Great... looks like Im'a gonna have to get 20Mbit then :/

I know it's bad... but ah well. It'll have to do for now.

Indeed. Anyway, I plan to rent it out, gimme a little income.

no one would rent it with a 200kbps up speed. especially when they can go get one sitting on a 10-100mbps up speed connection for $5

Don't kill his dreams. Maybe someone wants a site that they can access from school. Now, as long as Ben doesn't create a bad name for his server, he can rent it out to them.

sure, anything is possible. I enjoy running a online radio on my desktop once and awhile on a 388kbps up speed with 5 people listening

Thankyou. And the server's name will likely be CentralServerSolutions or something. (CSS, Counter Strike Source :D)

lol it'd have to be light. It was just a thought to throw out, like say if people wanted to share hw (I'm talking documents, not powerpoints) without having to throw pen drives around.

Ben, just think outside of the box, or get more bandwidth.

well it would be good for personal use and you kept the server private.
