Currently, I have i5 2500k so in both cases jump will be huge.
Photo editing, blender, little bit of gaming

Forum members helped me a lot but I decided to wait for BF.
Now I can have:
1 #######
3900x
Asus TUF x570 Pro (I like it the most of x570)
price 848 USD

2 #######
10850K
Asus z490-e Strix (my dream z490 mobo :) )
Price 850 USD

3 #######
10850K
Asus TUF Z490 Plus Wi-Fi
Price 739 USD

Currently GTX 780 but in the near future I would like to change it to radeon GPU
Between 1 and 2 I would go for 1 but I'm sure that I'll feel move from 2500k to 10850k so 3 seems most reasonable.

In the future I would like to change to intel gen 11 or AMD gen 5xxx. Depends on current choice.

You'll probably be better served by a 5800X or 5900X. Nothing beats more cores for Blender. Same for photo work, but it depends on the software you use.

If it's only a little bit of gaming & lots of photo editing & blender then I'd pick zen3 chips for sure. Of course it also depends on your budget & location ~ Intel is generally more expensive across a number of price brackets though their best VFM offering are the locked chips like 10900 or 10700 & pretty efficient as well, especially compared to the unlocked siblings.

If your use case is more on the heavily threaded side the 3900X will serve you better.

Congrats on the buy, I researched the improvement as i use the 3900x. The XT variant uses much higher quality silicon as the 7nm process has been substantially improved.
I'm sure you would of bought the 5000 series had they been available at retail prices. Enjoy buddy, you can run your memory much higher as well. the infinity fabric will run at 2000mhz compared with 1800mhz average for the 3900x. With ram set to 4000mhz It should be an amazing chip!
