Hi all

I thought my system was pretty well tweaked and setup. That is, until today. I was browsing the BFBC2 official forums and came across this thread.

Examples of things I now know that I didn't before (and I'm not a newb at this):

-HPET effect on system
-how to reduce windows timer resolution and make things snappier
-how to make intel's latest chipset inf utility actually INSTALL drivers for supported hardware
-how to tweak multimedia class scheduler for games in vista/windows 7
-best advanced settings for your network card for FPS gaming

Seriously good info link. Try it!

edit: what i like most about it is the links which justify why the tweaks are needed. check them out!

Good tweaks, but is do not like this one:
CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E) & EIST decrease overclocking reliability, create DPC latency spikes and hiccups in some circonstances.

Gigabyte motherboards note
Depending on your model & BIOS, Intersil power controllers may be defaulted to intermediate hardware power management, creating high DPC latency under some circonstances. Only way I found to fix that was to install Gigabyte Dynamic Energy Saver, turn it On then Off. Now optimal performance, minimal power management are set (even if you reinstall Windows). You can uninstall DES or disable the associated service after this is done. This may apply to other mobo manufacturers using similar PWM controllers and softwares.

Not true for all platforms. See the sandybridge thread where those that disabled these features, and then re-enabled them at my suggestion, had more stable overclocks.

It does say in some circumstances, so they've coverred thier butt there, but at the same time, it's something I personally will never suggest.

yeah i didn't apply that tweak. Keep reading :)

I think it's ideal for people who know what they are doing (i.e. TPU readers/members)

Hah I read it all. Doesn't take me long to read anything, having a nice big 30-inch. ;) Very good link, nonetheless...Thanks very much. ;)

yes Helloworld. At least it applied for my P67 so I would assume so.

edit: I know the mobo chipset is not mentioned in supported chipsets. Neither was mine. Still worked :)
