Always uninstall drivers before flashing. also adviseable to reinstall chipset drivers as Hardware IDs may have changed. Then reinstall your favourite drivers

Yall dont get it?
Hes talking about the boot screent, were it shows your CPU, ho mutch RAM,detects your HDD and DVD/CD-Roms,and the BIOS setup screen (the one you press DEL key to enter), hes not talking about Windows Problems,i have the same probs he has,and in windows its works 100%,only at boot up in the POST/BIOS it is slow, sometimes you can see it drawing the letters on the screen :(

Well then I suppose it would also help to know what you guys are flashing TOO and from WHAT?. Details go a long way towards a solution.

I have a Club3d 9550 with 256Mb Samsung 5ns, tried all the bios 9600 Pro 256mb with Samsung mem except those with a lower timing than 4ns,so theres about 3 of them, PowerColor, Saphire and Madview, also tried one 9600 Non Pro 256 bios from HIS the one that is for Elixir 5.0, all work completly fine execpt in boot up screen and bios, when i flash with the original bios all is fine, execpt lower clockrates, i could always use softmod or mod the bios from the original so that it uses 9600 clock frequencies...but i would like to see my card listed has a 9600 :/

ohh and sorry if i offended you in any way :(

doubt you offended anyone, don't worry about that.

I guess we missed the intent of the OP-- assumed you meant when you boot up, as into windows. I think it was the structure of the English sentence..

Anyway, wierd problem.

Maybe modding your own BIOS is all you can do then. Got me.

Or try clearing the CMOS of your MoBo's BIOS. Hardware ID's have changed and that could be the issue with your slow boot. doesnt quite know whats in there and the DMI pool is a bit scrambled

Was worth a try.. Im outta thoughts on that one. if its working fine in Windows then I suppose it isnt a "major" issue but I understand your concern

i found some quite diferent memory timings in the bios

MEM_TRCDRD: in 9600 its 5; in 9550 its 4
MEM_TRCDWR: in 9600 its 3; in 9550 its 2
MEM_TRP: in 9600 its 4; in 9550 its 5
MEM_TRA: in 9600 its 17; in 9550 its 8
MEM_TRRD: in 9600 its 2; in 9550 its 3
MEM_TWR: in 9600 its 3; in 9550 its 2

info taken from ATITool 0.0.23

maybe editing the bios so that it matches the timings maybe then it will work well

wouldnt be a bad idea. As an alternative you could D/L RaBit 1.7(bios Editor and change the timing permantly and reflash the BIOS with the modded timings. I have used it to modd my Clock speeds on my 9800PRO flashed to XT as the Sapphire XT BIOS is a bit fast for my liking 412/362 so I changed it to the "milder" Gecubes XT BIOS of 398/351 works like a charm
