Hi, I've bought an used Biostar rx 6700 xt, but it's showing some problems: fans are too loud and temperature doesn't go above 70 degrees, sometimes when the pc is booting she mobo shows gpu not detected error even if it's working fine and some other issues.I tried to clen reinstall the drivers, but nothing changed, so i think that the bios has been modded or maybe it's corrupted. The problem is that I can't find any proper bios in the bios collection, so I wonder if any of you might have it. The model is Biostar VA67S6TML9 , the version with 2622 MHz oc, i leave further details in the attachements.
Thank you in advance

The issue is you bought a used card, have you replaced thermalpads/paste, made sure heatsink is properly installed, fans and heatsink properly cleaned???

Get a picture of your heatsink please

As far as I know you can't flash the modded bios on 6000 series also your VBIOS version is legit and it's exactly corresponds with the VBIOS version on TPU for Biostar 6700XT so there is no mismatch there....you better check that card clean it and also check your mobo and update latest bios for it but as you bought that GPU already used it's possible that this 6700 XT have some hardware issues/malfunction....In that case my advice is to contact again your seller and if you can turn it back.....GL

could it be that the bios is corrupted? In the past I have solved problems by re-flashing the original bios

Well who knows maybe It's not impossible but corrupt bios usually do not manifest like what you described.....
P.S.This maybe is desperate move but if you didn't already tried then DDU your drivers first and then try to install THIS driver that Biostar recommended on their website for your particular card model

What picture u mean? Do i need to disassemble my gpu? Sorry if 8 don't understand well, I'm not native english speaker
Ok you are not disassembling the card, just get a picture of the heatsink with fans please

some other issues
Which ones?

All in all, it's crazy unlikely you have a VBIOS problem. Either it's something wrong with the HW part of the card (then it deserves a refund) or you got something going wrong with the rest of your PC.

I assume you can't but if you can... Do some testing on a different PC. If behavior is the same then ask for your money back.

All minor issues, nothing significant for the moment: for example it shows some little artifacts in the windows loading wheel or when it restarts from standby mode. I supposed it could be a problem with vram, but I tested it with occt and it shows nothing wrong.

Your VRAM might get inadequate voltage under light loads but adequate under heavy ones which results in passing stress tests and having artifacts in other scenarios.

I get what you're saying, I agree. Are there any solutions?

For this exact problem, no, at least I don't think so. Workarounds exist though. For example you might wanna OVERCLOCK your VRAM and connect more displays to your GPU so the VRAM runs at full speed all the time.

Which brings stability but you will pay more for electricity and it's not gonna help your VRAM health. Not that it's that bad, maybe your card will die in 10 years instead of 15 xD

Speaking of loud fans, you just have to manually configure the fan profile. Can be done in Adrenalin software but I prefer MSi Afterburner because it doesn't reset the fan profile to default every time something goes not according to plan. There's a million guides on it and it's so easy I'm not sure you even need a guide. Just don't roast the card, temperatures above 100C (hotspot) and 90C (VRAM) aren't particularly healthy. Better loud than cooked.

Your bios per device ID/SSID appears to be for reference cards

The only difference is bios version it would appear and the latest bios for them is from 2022.

None of theese seems to be my gpu. Mine has 2622 oc clock

You can use this force flash trick as a workaround, of course at own risk:

Hi! I have the same card as yours. It has issues related to the memory controller (this is my assumption; the exact cause is unknown), but it can be fixed and made fully stable. It’s not a modified BIOS like you might think—the card is like this out of the box. I might have a solution for your situation. Have you tested the card in games? This is important because benchmarks don’t reveal this issue.

Yes, i tested it in games but nothing showed up

Have you tried RDR2? It has an in-game benchmark. I almost always experienced a hard crash and audio stuttering there—that's the GPU issue I was talking about. I've seen other people with the same problems on this card. Maybe you're in the same situation. If your monitor is connected via HDMI, you'll see a green screen; if it's DisplayPort, the screen will go black. These colors indicate a system signal loss (video signal dropout GPU related). Try running the RDR2 benchmark at max settings 5-10 times. If everything works fine, then my fix probably won't help you. I fixed my card by editing the Soft Power Play Tables using MorePowerTool by igorsLab. I can upload my profile from this tool and give a brief explanation if you want.

I use to play rdr2 in 4k with almost maxed settings, but I've noticed nothing, even if i oc gpu, memory, timings and run benchmark. I will try to run 10 consecutive benchmarks and check if something shows up. How did you modify your bios? I would be grateful if you could explain it to me

Another problem that i noticed is that if i boot my pc with the monitor turned off the mb speaker beeps "gpu not detected" and the mb gpu's led turns on. Then, if i turn on the monitor it seems to work fine, except for the lockscreen wallpaper, which becomes low res and the gpu led on the mobo stays on.

This is not a BIOS modification, but it looks similar because the driver retrieves information for Power Play tables from the BIOS. Here's the MorePowerTool.
1. First, you need to dump the BIOS using GPU-Z. Next, open MorePowerTool and load the BIOS dump by clicking the 'Load' button. First tab should now show up like this:

2. Now you can modify any GPU settings you need. Here's a more detailed manual covering almost all features (it's in German, so use page translation). I'll only show you the settings that helped me fix hard crashes. Lowering SOC voltage below 1000mV. I settled on 981mV. Marked in red as #1. I also lowered the SOC clock. Be careful here - if you reduce it too much, the GPU won't work even at stock frequencies. Marked in blue as #2. This is an optional step. I've also highlighted my VRAM overclock in green (also optional). The most critical setting is the SOC voltage.

3. Apply changes with 'Write SPPT', then reboot.
You can also save your custom profile using the 'Save' button for future use. When using this tool, remember that driver updates will reset your Soft Power Play Tables. After any driver update, you'll need to reload your saved profile and 'Write SPPT' again.

And that’s it! Here’s my BIOS + MPT/Wattman profiles if you need them.

mb speaker beeps "gpu not detected" and the mb gpu's led turns on
What motherboard are you using? Is CSM (Compatibility Support Module) enabled or disabled in your BIOS?
