Before you even ask. Yes the hard drive is fine. I have ran every hard drive test i could find.

2nd

Checked cables and tried different sata cables and ports.

It blue screens every time it starts to load windows like it see's the drive then doesn't. I have ran out of ideas.

I can't boot from CD either for some reason...

Is it set to RAID, AHCI or IDE mode, and what mode was Windows installed with?

Have you reset bios to fail safe defaults?

IDE, IDE and yes.

Im sure you have, but just in case. Have you cleared the Cmos, removed batt , Power supply from MOBO etc. Then tried it.
I had the same issue with my DFI P35 board, occasionally it wouldnt read the drives.

Also check if the jumpers on the hard drive are set correctly.

Try removing the DVD/CD drive

^ Yes, Also set the DVD as master drive and hd as slave.

It is all SATA drives No idea, i ditched that years ago.

I actually haven't taken the battery out yet. Completely forgot to do that. i will try that and the dvd drive unplugged.

p.s

I hate this board. yet to have a good experience with it.

now i get D4

seems like my crucail ballistix are bad.

but still says no hard disk detected.

Try it with just one stick of memory. Also if you have any different memory try that also. I had the same problem with mine and it ended up being the memory. I bought some Gskill and it started working fine after that.:rockout:

bad ram. Ugh stupid crucial.

Might as well try sticking them in the freezer overnight and try to salvage them.
