The Bitfenix Portal is a refreshing, cool-looking case with that elusive mass-market appeal. It aims to marry design, quality, compatibility and ease of assembly into a compact chassis. With its round looks, use of aluminum pieces, near-immaculate engineering and a design that separates the shell from the case frame, Bitfenix manages to check all the boxes required for a great case.

Upside down Motherboard, itx case only, along with a window on top where it is useless makes it easy to say no to this case.
Pity because it looks good IMO, if only it were larger and had a side window, along with a conventional mounting for the Motherboard of course.

The design (external) is kinda cool, but in white only.
Inside, it's a pretty bad case for that price.... I bought a Carbide 300R for 75€ last year, and it's so much better than this one.

It also look cheap inside (bare metal without any paint or polyshing).

Could have been a great case, but they focused on the external aspect and just threw the rest away :/

That separable internal chasis reminds me of old PC case with separable motherboard tray

Kill it before it lays eggs!!

That was all the rage, but really turned out to be impractical in most cases. Just having a cut-out behind the CPU for aftermarket coolers has helped working on PCs a hell of a lot easier.

I dig the concept here, wish they'd try something innovative with full ATX motherboards.

I like the looks, personally.

I think the whole point of the design of the case is to draw attention to and showcase the GPU. It's a very similar concept to the iBuyPower Revolt 2's case. This is obvious given the inverted mounting so the GPU is on top and the clear window on top. I don't understand the dislike for ITX-only motherboard support. You can't cram much more hardware in there without making the case much taller that it already is. The curves on top and bottom take up a lot of space. Maybe if it's a popular enough case and they get good feedback it's possible they'll do a Micro ATX version like they did for the Prodigy.

I can see the desire for a side window in addition to the top window if you wanted to show off the motherboard but I don't see how the top window is a negative if your goal is to show off the hardware (of course that's the goal, why else would you want a window?). Given the sliding tray design and the very open internal frame it makes cable management difficult and that view through the side window might not be as pretty as the standalone GPU at the top of the tower.

I think this is a really cool and unique case, especially the white version. $139 is a pretty good price point considering all the external panels are curved aluminum and not plastic. If this had "Lian-Li" printed on the box instead of BitFenix I think it would be a huge success.

I don't know what you are all on about, this thing looks fantastic.

NZXT Manta?

Sick looking case, especially if you want to try something thematic with it. Almost bought the white one a few weeks ago, but ended grabbing a tempered ENTHOO instead.

It's different!! If you adore your gpu then this is your case lol

make a new rectangular case with the same skeleton! the problem with curvy exteriors is that space is wasted
