Have a nice day. Fps drops in this episode. then it goes back to normal. does it happen to you too? I tried 3 times, same thing.

Nope, haven't had this at all. I think the large open area and its geometry is killing your hardware.

Its stuttery, too, apart from the big slowdowns.

Nope, haven't had this at all. I think the large open area and its geometry is killing your hardware.

Black Mesa isn't particularly demanding and that level is especially easy to run since there are no enemies or explosions, just a bunch of conveyor belts. My guess is a driver issue.

Monitor your loads, clocks and power usage % during that sequence and see if you can reproduce it. Its the only way to get some info on that.
We're also talking about an RX570, so let's not dismiss the idea of performance... but yeah. Black Mesa should run just fine overall. I've also noticed watching the video again that when you enter the same area a bit later in the level its not quite as slow as it was in the beginning.

Agreed. It looks like the driver thinks the load is low enough to put the GPU to sleep, then suddenly realises that it needs more power so it wakes it up again.

Alternatively, something is fully utilising your CPU while you're playing.

Like @Vayra86 said, you'll need some real-time monitoring data to figure this out.
