Black Mesa (formerly Black Mesa: Source) is a Half-Life 2 total conversion remaking VALVe Software's award-winning PC game, Half-Life. Utilizing the Source engine, Black Mesa will reintroduce the player as Doctor Gordon Freeman, along with the original cast of memorable characters and environments seen in Half-Life. Black Mesa was built and founded on the basis that Half-Life: Source was inadequate as the Source engine port of Half-Life, regardless of the intentions of VALVe Software. As such, Black Mesa was founded to fully reconstruct the Half-Life universe utilizing Source to its fullest potential in terms of art detail, level sizes and code features. This total conversion will not require Half-Life: Source to play - only a copy of any Source Engine game installed on Steam.

Didn't know that but the trailer looks like "wet pants" worthy.

4 years, that's a long time, how come I never heard of it ;/

Read about it on gamepowerup.com... DAMN this will be the third AND fouth coming of Jesus for me! I have dreamt about such a making since source-like graphics came up.

Ya i have been following this since the beginning and its like 1000 times better then the wanabe Half life Source that Valve released they have been working on it for a long time but its alot of work cuz there reworking everything even the voice acting and videos and also the game isen't going to be completely the same its going to have all the original location of HL1 and also a few added lvls to it to add more to the completeness to the entire game

Must admit that ending of HL 1 was a bit rushed, all of sudden you were floating about and trying to kill a big "blurp".

I heard about this a while ago, and I just can't wait for it to come out!

been in the making for far to long tbh , it's another dn4ever lol

Watching the trailer gave me flashbacks. I have only one question - can you kill *anything* like the original?

It feels great that people are taking the old and making it new again. I love Half-Life, as I will love the game even more if it were revamped with the latest Source engine.
