I thought i would start a new thread just related to this game and its performance issues, What i have found testing with SLI enable and with out is really weird, I get the same frame rates with and with out SLI, When running a single GTX 680 usages will be around 90-95% when running SLI usage on both cards hover around 40-50% for some reason this game think both cards are one and its spitting the load of one card across the 2.

did you cap it to 60 fps? That usually is the case when the gpu would barely break a sweat in rendering things.. much like when you run half-life1 with vsync.. < 10% usage lol.

No cap is set to unlimited the problem is with heavy action I'm getting lag because the game doesn't pull the power that's needed to hold a good frame rate, People running single cards probably wouldn't notice.

Noticing it as well with Physix set to highest..

But with 2x GTX680 with uncapped fps but still getting 50s on each.. I'd say yeah.. that is a concern.

Is Vsync on?

I'm running two 7970 in crossfire at a resolution of 6000x1080 and the frame rate is a constant 60fps accept when there is PhysX involved. When I play at a resolution of 1920x1080 I still get the exact same drops in fps when the action starts - regardless of resolution or if I am running one card or two.

There have been many times where my frame rate has dropped to 15fps during a fight scene because grenades, rocket launchers and bullets were flying. However as Bjorn has said, changing the PhysX to anything but 'Highest' will resolve this issue. Personally, doing so takes too much of the games physical enjoyment away.

I'm just hoping for a patch for this, currently running the latest ATi drivers (12.10) and this isn't the type of frame rate I am looking for after saving for so long.

Edit:
Game settings: Vsync is on and frame rate is either 'Capped at 60' or 'unlimited', either one get the same results.

Because AMD cards don't support PhysX it running off your CPU so you will get huge drops in frames but for people using Nvidia cards this is another problem, vsync is off i get 120 fps indoors and around 90 fps out doors but like i said my GPU usage is only half on each card when the action start my frames will drop to around 30.

I'm thinking this is a driver/physX issue that needs to be corrected by Nvidia. I've seen similar posts on other forums.

I am thinking the same. I had the same issues even with my GTX 470's. On a single monitor I had better FPS disabling SLi and clocking the good card up.

Hows this how retarded is this game what wrong with this picture :wtf: , both in the same location one looking out of the station the other looking in have a look at my clocks, frames and uages.....

Seems like the game reduces load when its in open areas, You will get higher usages staring at a wall.

For my crosffire 5850 is same, huge lag when many moving objects start to crowd sreen, even with psyx off, unlimited frames,v-sync off, and even with lowered graphic, with drivers 12.11.DOnt get it why its so. my brother got single 6xxx card with amd build and no problems to him even with all max and enabled options.
P.S.
Hope my 7970 will help me,what is arriving today :)

I believe the difference is because you are inside a building that is itself in a large area. The game is probably buffering the outside environment and the inside one at the same time. This way when you leave, the transition is unnoticeable.

The frame rate drop is due to the larger environment having a much higher texture and pixel density. While the scene may not seem like it, it requires a lot more to render a single frame. While the workload is light, the card spends more time doing it.

With my new 7970 card all lag issues dissapiered :),someties just a lil lags occur when crowds of enemies attack but barley noticable :)

No if you looked at my GPU usage and clocks they goes down when in open areas, Which seem to be a CPU bottle neck, Also being inside a building would equal to less rendering which would equal in less GPU usage not more.
