Gpu: Xfx rx 580 gts xxx 8gb oc+
Before all of this gpu was only booting with the bios switch aimed to the right(It had a mining bios I assume since it had a lower clock and higher memory not to mention it performed terribly in games)always had to switch between the two when launching the pc so I could get good performance.
I did some research and apparently flashing a bios would help me solve this, so I flashed a bios via amdvb (the bios I flashed was from the techpowerup database it was apparently for the same model gpu so I thought it'd be fine) but nope! boom bricked, switching bios modes won't work since I flashed the working bios (stupid, I know) after this the gpu was not letting the pc boot til I did the paperclip trick(pc currently running on an igpu). And the gpu got detected and from then on I tried to flash it but yeah rom error....

Hello.
In order to go further we need one more picture:
Open the card and make a close-up picture with the memory chip. Use macro and a good light source.
After that i will search the right BIOS file for your card

Hmm, have you tried to flash the mining BIOS ?
I mean switch to that position an try again.
I usually don't recommend people to download newer version, but in your case i will make an exception.
Download a newer version of amdvbflash.
Be careful cause the syntax for the newer version is different.

Don't re-enable the card. Restart the system instead, then enable the card. (After the successful flash process).

still same error :'))) im at a loss rn is this card a no go? also do you think it would help if i were to try flashing a mining bios instead

What if you move the card to another system?
Let's say a friend will help you out?
I would try that also.
Flash the card in that system

I can try but i dont think ill be able to do that anytime soon, in the meantime do you have any other alternative methods you can suggest? thanks in advance :)

What i suggested earlier was only what i did.
All i suggest to other members is only what i already did.
So if flashing the card with any BIOS from database, by using the "forceflash" command fails, that gives me 2 options:
1- the flashing syntax is somehow wrong
2- the BIOS chip is damaged

So we can check the syntax of your version by using the following command:
amdvbflash /?

In the text that appear should appear all the available commands.
Check the exact syntax please.
Some versions use -f others use -fa

also, in the case of a broken bios chip any ideas on how much that would cost to repair? thanks!
(also, I think I might be able to borrow another pc and try flashing it there, the problem is my cousin's psu doesnt have an 8 pin and idk if he'll allow me to replace his psu temporarily, does the gpu need to be plugged on if i just want to flash it?)

Well, as i suspected you have another syntax for your version:
1st use the command : amdvbflash.exe -unlockrom 0
2nd use the following syntax this time : amdvbflash.exe -p -fa -fp 0 name.rom

This should work this time

It could be.
But before discussing about repair there is another solution to try:
External flash programmer.
But before external programmer you should try what i suggested earlier, to try the card in another system.
That is faster and cheaper.

I see, tysm! I'll make sure to try that out

At least this is what i do for myself.
So i am suggesting to do all this cause is cheaper and faster.
