Brightness not working on Windows10.

Does not work! I mean to say the F11 and F12 where the bringtness - and brightness + buttons are located are not working. Please guide.

Did you try the YouTube video in that link I provided? The video was poorly done (according to the comments) but the solution provided worked.

That's a driver issue with your laptop you can still use the windows power options to adjust the brightness. Like Bill said

its a laptop driver issue.. basically some of them dont work with windows 10.. each time the f-cking thing upgrades it leaves more and more (older) stuff dysfunctional..

Eventually W10 will find the driver. It takes time. I had the same issue with USB 3.0 drivers and touch pads

wishful thinking that one.. largely because for some hardware a driver that is compatible with latest windows incarnation dosnt exist.. and the makers wont bother making one..
i just had it happen with the win 10 anniversary update.. lenovo drivers that worked fine stopped working after the update.. my laptop lost some of its functionality.. windows wont find any compatible driver because no such thing exists.. MS dosnt care and the hardware makers dont ether where older hardware is concerned..
i lost my screen orientation buttons.. i rolled it back and they worked but no way could i get them working with the latest windows update.. i can do it with software just like the op can adjust his brightness.. but its still annoying..

Is your GPU made by AMD, Nvidia or Intel? If it's AMD then this should fix:
Open Regedit.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000
Find KMD_EnableBrightnessInterface2
Modify the setting to 0
Reboot and the keys brightness function keys should be working.

Had similar issue on many laptops with discrete AMD graphics (mostly ASUS N52/N61 series and few Lenovo laptops).
Except in my case the backlight did not work at all (black screen).
The bug is actually present even on Windows 7, and in 5+ years never been addressed, or fixed.
So, it is not M$ fault, not Dell's fault, but exclusively AMD's.
Also, if your brightness keys do not work, you may want to check your BIOS settings and input drivers.
Most laptops have 2 modes: Fn mode always on (which means F11 and F12 will adjust brigtnes), and Fn off (you do the same with Fn+F11, Fn+F12).
So, before you start messing with drivers and registry, you need to check which mode is enabled in BIOS.

I downloaded drivers from following link and it did work, it first downloads the Dell system detect software on the machine and then recommends which drivers need to be installed I installed Display drivers and immediately after that my brightness buttons worked.
