iirc i read an article recently about some change or another [fcc?] that was going to make "broadband" be only 768k and above, if true, was wondering if that would make upstream be included in that, ive noticed that qwest seems to have 896k upstream on even their lesser packages, or atleast thats what some people say, and if thats the case i was thinking maybe thats why

it was lower here i think it just got raised to 768, im hopeing they are makeing it be upstream too cuz upstream is more important to me than downstream :? sorta anyhow. i wish i could afford sdsl or a t1 even :? well upstream and latency.

I have a small back woods ISP, the only "broadband" I can get is 384K connection. I really hope the FCC forces them to get a little faster.

I would have to answer "marketing". Basically "high speed internet", though I don't believe there is a single definition for what exactly is high speed. Besides, it would change every other year, just like anything IT related.

Here in the US a 128kb/s down stream can be called broadband still (look at DSL and satalite). It kinda angers me to see them calling that crap "blazingly fast" Hell, anything that goes over a dish generally sucks in my book, but to mislead customers into thinking 128kb/s is fast is just a crime. =/

Broadband- Broad Bandwith, so basically high speed....
My Interwebs can get "Blazingly Fast"...

i hope adsl2+ gets here soon, i wanna get 1-2mbit upstream 896kbit + overhead hurts my feelings :P

I got adsl2+ were i am normally get 1.5 meg a sec dls and about 800 odd k ul wich is supposedly blazing fast here in Oz and im 2k from my exchange.
