I broke the LCD screen on my phone slightly
    [IMG]

And I was wondering what would be the best (cheapest) way of repairing

I could either call Virgin mobile, get it fixed in town in one of those mobile phone unlocking/repair places or get some sort of online service to look at it

OR if someone on TPU is a phone repairs guy...:toast: :)

    What phone is it?

Google the phone + screen or lcd in google let me know if you can buy new screens and I could fix it.

I always get sturdy phones and get a new contract 'cos they hold out for 2-3 years
Had this phone since October '09
    Nokia 6700s, I'll check now

Yeah I'm thinking that, but I'm content with this type of phone
nothing fancy, with BUTTONS and all

I need a good texting phone to be honest, but I can't find any unlimited text packages with decent phones for around £15, which is what I pay now

Find a contract and phone you like without the unlimited texts, call up their phone sales team and haggle with them. I managed to upgrade a £16/mo contract with 50 mins, 100 txts and 500MB data up to 250mins, unlimited texts and 750MB data by speaking to the retentions department for o2 (who I had a pre-existing sim only deal with).

Don't bother with a contract man, get a giffgaff sim.

£10 a month unlimited texts and web only 300 minutes but that's plenty IMO

Its on a per monthly basis as well rather than yearly.

    +1 for pantherX12

Get a "comes without phone" sim and buy a "comes without sim" phone at your favourite online pc store (yes, they sell phones too, and cheap usually). Cheap and pretty much calling time, no simlock and no moaning by PSPs and phone companies annually that try to let you get a shiny new and expensive contract with shiny and new, overpriced phone you did not ask for.

Yes it is. Until last summer my parents even had a TV from Nokia for like 14-16 years. Durable stuff, that's for sure.

There are quite a few, is there anyway of telling which one is the best screen

or are the replacements all of the same quality

TBH most of them will be much of a muchness ie it shouldn't really matter, just make sure the seller has good feedback for the screens and you should be fine, are you going to attempt to do it yourself?
