So, i overclocked my 4670k at 4.2 GHz at 1.2Vcore. I tested stability with intel burn test and it passes. Now im doing the 3dmark firestrike benchmark and i get a bsod. Isnt this weird as itb is much more demanding? I reduced clock speed to 4 GHz and now it passes the bechmark fine.

Presumably Win8? I had gotten the same error when my overclock apparently became unstable after being 1yr WCG-stable. A 100mhz drop did the trick and made those nasties go bye bye.

Ibt is very specific in what part of the cpu it hits. But what it does hit it hits really hard. I once had a cpu pass xtu cpu test(basically ibt) and crash in a blender render which didn't even cause that much vdroop. Ever since then I just spam run 5 blender renders in the background of my interneting for stability testing instead of ibt or similar software.
