The error means that the Nvidia installer insists on a restart to finish the installation, borking the whole process and failing the install.
I had this error for a while and then read up that the fix was to manually download the full driver package and point to that instead of letting NVCleanstall download it. It worked for a while but now no matter what, the Nvidia installer requires and forces a restart. As mentioned, this breaks the NVCleanstall monitoring process and actually borks the install itself. On reboot the drivers are broken, NVCP is missing completely and software like NVCleanstall and MSI Afterburner can't find a GPU. ONLY a DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) based clean install works correctly. This is an annoying extra step (multiple actually). Any way this can be looked at and fixed or at least clarified?
Otherwise, thank you a thousand times for saving me from the dregs of Nvidia's software division.
