built system, and cannot get Windows to install

I run into similar problems when I went from 2 till 3 drives in raid, same settings, but install faided at first boot of XP install.

Was using USB keyboard and mouse and had to force PS/2 compatibility, not just auto setting even with legacy support enabled, and played about with APIC as well.Vista would install OK but not XP.
When XP screen first appeared would BSOD,but with USB drive installed would boot...really freaked me out!!

Try just using 1gb of ram when installing
