built system, and cannot get Windows to install

Hmmm sounds all too familiar...Seagate HDD not taking windows on an ASUS mobo....

Im gonna say this my ASUS wouldnt run without a WD hdd . See if these two threads seem familiar to ya!

I run into similar problems when I went from 2 till 3 drives in raid,same settings,but install faided at first boot of XP install.

Was using USB keyboard and mouse and had to force PS/2 compatibility,not just auto setting even with legacy support enabled,and played about with APIC as well.Vista would install OK but not XP.
When XP screen first appeared would BSOD,but with USB drive installed would boot...really freaked me out!!
