So i received a IdeaPad 100S 14" with a Celeron N3050 with Intel HD Graphics. Unfortunately the intel drivers are dated mid 2015 from Lenovo. It wouldn't let me install the newest version from intels website as i got a "The driver being installed is not validated for this computer" message.

So googling around i found this https://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/2/558749190911446231/ and now i have the latest drivers for the HD 400 gfx :) I can play HD on yuotube as long as its in Edge, Crome is choppy :p

Just a heads up for ppl who may have or will run into this issue with Lenovo and other brands :)

I can't advise that. Windows Update drivers are shit, especially for graphics. While "assistants" or "driver helpers" are usually scam material, he's not talking about that. He's talking about modding the latest intel drivers to install on a product they simply don't support, but contains their chipset.

As you've found out, the Intel version of the driver doesn't normally allow you to install their version. You'll need to download the zip version of the driver, and use device manager to manually install from wherever you unzip it.

I know, but Manufacturers like Lenovo, H.P. etc all have their own built in version of "assistant" that updates the system.
Removing the bloatware from the system should allow standard drivers to install as they shouldn't be prevented by the proprietary software.

While that's often the case with various drivers, the Intel driver will give the same error on a clean install. I believe the installer looks at something in the BIOS.

That's true. I wouldn't install any of that crap. I was just stating that there are better sources than just Windows Update.

Neither would i but it came preinstalled that way and im not going to go about and delete a bunch of stuff :p was just looking for a way around Lenovo's bloatware :)
