Calling all exp. for oc hlp

i need some help oc'in...i cant seem to get it abouve 2.21 ppl say it should reach 2.4 and this board has tones of options.......its currently @ 177 fsb running dual channel the only prob is i cant get it @ 180 witch will make it 2300 on a 12.5 multie i ran prime and it errored though the sys seemed stable and the temps were fine i did the mixed test that tested alot of ram so i though it was my ram that couldnt handle it so i loosened the timings no difference... should i up the voltage?...what do u guys think?....also my 9800 doesnt really seem up to spek the highest i can get it is in the sig...ppl w/ 9600 say i should be able to kill their 3dm05/03 score...im not im like their score in half its a fresh install o windows and all......so i beg u wtf! lots o ppl on THESE forums said im doin good but that i could do better but ive hit a wall......and if i need to adjust cores how much i havent even attempted volt mods be4

Seems to me that you have to up your voltage some. What are you running now?

You would only want to bump up your vcore one setting at a time. Most of the time it will go up in .25 volt increments.

should i throttle up anything else?

How much voltage is running through your ram?

Try changing the RAM divider if you haven't done that.

RAM dividers are like 5/6 (Puts 200mhz ram at 166), 2/3 (133mhz) and 1/2 (100mhz). Most motherboards will just say the clocks instead of the fraction. I know with Gigabyte boards it's under Advanced BIOS Options or something like that which isn't even listed in the menu until you press either ctrl + F1 or shift + F1. I can't remember which it is. I'm so used to doing it it's just second nature and my hand just kind of does it when I go into the BIOS.

You have a Socket A cpu & this socket requires low latency ram for performance.

If the Nanya ram you own is actually (3,3,3,8) as described in your sig specs its holding back the overclockability of your system. Those mem timings are adequate (but not good) for AMD64 or P4 setups BUT NOT FOR SOCKET A!

You likely need at least 2.9v on the dimms (ram) to get an oc with the ram u have, maybe more.

the default timings are 3,3,3, 8 at 2.6 or 2.7V?

k @ 2.8v on the ram and 1.675 corev and im still getting errors in prime
any ideas ...im @ 2.25ghz 180mhz fsb total bus spd is 360mhz and mem speed is 216mhz

hmmm well guys it seems i have some thing im running my ram 1:1 now and i put ddr speed run by spd to auto instead and raisd the voltages well i can get to 2250 now and my fsb and total sys bus is higher but now my ram is 20mhz under ware it was?!.....do u think this os a problem?...do u think i should lower my ram voltage back to 2.7 from 2.8 because no my ram isnt running 200mhz or should i leave it how it is?

Um, you will need way more than 1.65volts. Try 1.8v, if you have the cooling.

If you don't have good enough cooling, then you are SOL.
