I cannot flash my BIOS to the latest version, and i don't know why.I have an Asus Strix x299 E-Gaming model,i downloaded the latest flash from Asus site, but when i try to read the file and try flash the Bios i encountered the next message: Selected file is not a proper BIOS....
What is wrong and what can i do?The stick is formatted to FAT32.My current version of Bios is from 2017/8/8,and the latest i downloaded is from 2022

have you tried with an older file? also this: Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (X299SE.CAP) using BIOSRenamer

inside folder i have 2 file:Bios Renamer and .CAP file .I copied only .CAP file on the stick. What is wrong?I don't understand. Bios detected automatically .CAP file but when i try to read the files and continues to update i encountered that message: Selected file is not a proper BIOS
I tried to rename the file with Bios Renamer and the mesage is the same: Selected file is not a proper Bios

thank you.I thought my motherboard is only x299 e gaming not x299-xe gaming. On the Asus site pictures of the motherboard is the same...between x299 e gaming and x299-xe gaming

One more question. It;s absolutely necesarly to rename the file with Biosrenamer or i can let it without renaming? the BIOS renamer is only required if using the BIOS flashback button, yes?In my case update process is without button back...

Yes, you are correct. There is no need to rename the file unless you're using the flashback button.
