Can't Connect Phone or Tablet in Windows 10?

So, I'm banging my head against the wall on this!!!!

When ever I plug in a phone or tablet into my computer running Windows 10, it just starts charging.
Cannot get anything to go to media transfer mode.

I've been searching the web all morning and nothing that I've seen has worked.

Anyone have some ideas?

Am I missing a setting in Windows?

I've got the developer options in the tablet and I've got the USB Debugging all set correctly, but still nothing.

For reference the tablet is a 10" Fire tablet.

Autoplay is about all that I can think of
Which phone/ s ?

I've never had any issues accessing any iphone I've ever had
The phone will show a popup message asking if I want to allow access
Windows never shows anything besides a device listing and simply access it like any drive.

If you're not getting the device popup message asking I'd bet this is why you can not access the device.

you need to allow the transfer on your phone first in the notifications.

I'm not so much concerned with my phone as I am with the Fire tablet.

I've tried a ton of different things including trying it on Windows 7 machine.

I can't seem to find a specific instruction for making sure USB debugging is correct on a 2017 gen7 fire tablet.

Are we supposed to look up which os the devises have ?

Some you can not access bottom line only cell phones allow that type of access and it's limited to personal folders mostly image or video.
But as stated twice now you would get a popup asking to approve such access.

Bit of note this is why lots of devices also utilize cloud options to upload and share data.
